SQL Errors

Post by jryan »

Hey All,

Noticed an SQL Error earlier today, unfortunately had to wait for it to resolve itself, but ran some optimizations and repairs on the Database. We should be alright, but if the forum goes down, just try again a little later after you get the error. I'm going to try and make sure the database stays stable, but if it doesn't, there isn't much I can do right now.

Thanks,

Yes, thanks for the heads-up. :)

I didn't notice it. I haven't been around much. As a matter of fact, I haven't been on my computer much at all because of the starting of school. Plus, I was unhappy with myself because I was on the computer so much.

Yeah... It varies from county to county. :) Does all of Canada go to school at the same time? What are school hours? Is Canada really smaller than Rhode Island? ( :P :P :P )

Tak, I've missed you. Did not think about it being time for school to begin.

School started in my county, August 1st! Seems to start earlier every year. There was a time school didn't start until after Labor Day. B)

I don't know about all of Canada, but I do know that those of us in high school usually start the day after Labour Day. As for hours, in our city school can run anywhere from 9:00AM to 3:30PM (for the younger ones) or an average of 8:50AM to 3:07PM for my high school. Personally, I wasn't to thrilled to discover that I'm starting school again on September 2nd, but I'm only going in for the first day and spending the rest of the week at a cottage my parents are renting. It's kind of a relief, as my school decided to implement uniforms this year, and I wasn't too impressed when mine finally came in. Shotty workmanship, and they're basically the same thing I wear at work every weekend, so I can see how that's going to get old real fast, for me anyway.

There are some schools here that have the uniform rule. I think most students hate it.

For some reason everyone at my school wants uniforms, but I really don't want to, and so far so good as it ain't gonna happen.

By the way, was there anything lost from the SQL errors? If it was created before I left, I can probably retrieve it.
I will run a backup of here and AF shortly.

Yep, I got it too, I have to manually do a repair. We also lost a thread (the M$ longhorn one) but I managed to get it back. This is "normal" here. That's what happends when I can't run my own server. I've been bugging my host to fix that problem for quite a while. They seem to check it and say it looks ok, but I think they should just clean install everything. I would not mind a few hours of downtime if it would be for a good reason such as getting rid of these errors for good. :)

For sure! I can see why you miss your server, Red. I don't trust those hosts. Besides, you have much more control and flexibility with your own server.

Anyway, it would be nice if they would get it right.
