Vet Rewards

In appreciation for our long-term players, Ultima Online currently offers a number of Veteran Reward gift items that you can’t get anywhere else in the game. The more months a UO game account remains active, the more gifts that account can claim. There are currently multiple vet reward sets for 1 through 5 year veterans of UO. We are in the process of adding a new choice for year 1 vets, as well as choices for year 6 through year 9 vets.

All reward options are blessed.


1st Year Vet Reward: The following item is an additional choice being added to the list of reward choices for players whose accounts have been active for 12 months or more. Only those characters on accounts aged 12 months or more will be able to select or use this new reward item.

Red Soulstone
Allows you to store and transfer skills between characters on the same account
Can be used as a decoration in your house
Soulstones are account specific - Soulstones do not work on accounts other than the one that was used to claim it. For more information on Soulstones, click here.
6th Year Vet Reward: The following is the 6th year reward item that will be available to players whose accounts have been active for 72 months or more. Only those characters on accounts aged 72 months or more will be able to select or use the 6th year reward item.

Player Statue Maker
This is a decoration for your house
Can be used to make a statue of yourself
The statue will mimic your appearance, including clothing, armor and weapons
You can choose among three poses for the statue
There are three statue makers - each uses a different type of material:
Bronze
Alabaster Marble
Jade
Statue makers can only make statues out of one of the material types (if you pick a bronze statue maker, that particular statue maker will not be able to make statues out of marble or jade.)
Each material will have a small selection of available hues
Statue will be mounted on a plinth
The plinth will have a plaque with the character's name and the date it was created
The statue is re-deedable, so you can change it as many times as you wish (e.g., new pose, new wearables, new character, new hue, etc. Everything but the material type.)
When re-deeded, you can choose to restore the previous statue. This lets you move statues after they are created.
7th Year Vet Reward: The following is the 7th year reward item that will be available to players whose accounts have been active for 84 months or more. Only those characters on accounts aged 84 months or more will be able to select or use the 7th year reward item.

Decorative Cannon
This is a decoration for your house
Can be rotated
Can be fired:
Will make a cannon firing sound
Will have a particle effect
When it runs out of charges, it can be recharged using a full keg of explosion potions. Lesser kegs give 5, regular give 10, and greater give 15 additional charges.
8th Year Vet Reward: The following is the 8th year reward item that will be available to players whose accounts have been active for 96 months or more. Only those characters on accounts aged 96 months or more will be able to select or use the 8th year reward item.

Weapon Engraving Tool
Used to engrave a single line of text onto a weapon
The engraved line of text is orange and appears below the item title
Initially has 10 uses
Uses a rare gem to engrave that must be replaced periodically:
Only highly skilled tinkerer's can replace the gem
NPC tinkerer's will replace the gem for a fee (you provide the gem)
9th Year Vet Reward: The following is the 9th year reward item that will be available to players whose accounts have been active for 108 months or more. Only those characters on accounts aged 108 months or more will be able to select or use the 9th year reward item.

Rideable Polar Bear
Non-ethereal, summonable mount (like The Charger of the Fallen)

The red soulstone and the engraving tool would be simple to code in. As for the cannons, a special deed is already being worked on for them (Whether they will do the particle effect or not is a different matter). The player statues would be a lot more complex to make, but be doable.

&eah the last core edit I made added a field for the engraving so its just the thing of coding the tool now. I plan to later on make several types, container engraving, weapon, armor/shield, maybe resources (if for whatever reason you want to engrave your ingot piles or something )
