Corrected Server-side Problems

Post by jryan »

Those of you whom may have noticed, our server was off on the shout box and post times, for those of us whom live in Eastern Standard Time. I've changed the Server time to EST, please make appropriate corrections using your personal controls ("My Controls" below your login name) to correct any further offset you may require.

It's at Eastern time? If so, then why does it say 10:50:49 P.M. for the latest shout? :)

The forum time is seperate from the shout box time, since the shout box simply uses the php time function which is based on the server time.

Yep, GMT on the Shout Box, ladies and gentlemen. That's the way the cookie crumbles with Web servers, I guess. It's truly an easier thing for some sites, that way they can cater to all users, and the users set thier own times on the forum, which is what we're doing, it's just a pain that we can't change that time on the shoutbox. I suppose if we move to somewhere that is GMT instead of EST, we'd be all set. We wouldn't even notice. (lol)
