Getting Rid Of Something On Ud.....

Post by Chris Vogel »

Here is a little something I did when I was bored.... :roflmao2: :roflmao2:

Go to your United Devices folder in your Programs...... (Or where ever you installed it.)

Then, delete every .bmp you see in there.... :)

Now, you won't have those little "ad" things at the bottom... They weren't really ads, but I don't know how else to describe them.... :P

You still have that United Devices thing, but you no longer have those Oxford things....

I know it really isn't a big deal, but I was bored, so I thought I would share.... :D

lol. Some people actually complained about those ads at the UD forums.

I noticed that s4B site linking here again so I just need to get set a trap, I'll be around later, maybe tomorow, depends how long it takes to program. ;)

Good Boy taka, your learning hacker ethic. I Think I am going to try this as well, even though I don't look at ud often.

I don't look at UD often either; that is why it is really no big deal! :D

I saw those before but never though of changing them... I wonder if the program forces the dimensions or not, time to add an IceTeks logo or something. :P

LOL yeah go for it. I think it will overwrite it with the original images once you send a result though, not sure. Seem that's what happened to mine... :)

It can be "the thing" for all of us to have. :P

If you use simple enough graphics, it will make it crunch faster. :roflmao2: not really. :)

Yeah, but it would be a bit pointless..... :banghead: Maybe someone can modify UD software and then hack into the servers to replace that original program with the one that is covered in IceTek banners! :roflmao2: :roflmao2:

Just kidding... That would be terrible!

yeah probably. LOL

What UD should do though is make it available as a zip file, not the MSI crap. I find it stupid that you need to download an installer for an installer. :roflmao2:

That would have been much better. Although, not everyone has a .zip utility...

Perhaps the best thing to do would be to offer both. (Like Mozilla does! :P )

Or a self extractor, or just an installer that uses the normal installer technology that is built in the installer and does not require another installer!
