Things haven't been better for a long time, so why would they be better tomorrow?

How was your day, Red? Anything fun? Any body parts chopped off? (I would now put a laughing smiley or maybe two, but I want to uphold this no-smiley thing.)

I really would like to know how your day has been if you don't mind sharing.

What does everyone want to talk about? Money? The ozone layer? You name it!

Oh, about the fireplace...we were getting ready to paint and decided since we had to clear out a lot of things it would be a good idea to go ahead and put in the fireplace. We got it at a good price. It was from a couple that had marriage plans that went sour. They had bought a lot of things with the idea to build a house. Anyway, the fireplace has been in storage, never used. I looked it up online and it was 1299.00. We got it for 50.00. :D

I guess soured marriage plans turned out to benefit you. It's weird, isn't it?

US$50.00! Goodness! That is a great deal!

Actually we got 2 of them. Can sell one and pay for the materials needed to install ours.

I'll get pics when it's finished. There is a pic of my living room here in the Digital forum, so you can see the before and after if you like.

tak, are you getting any of the heavy rain up your way? There was a lot of rain here today.

We haven't had any rain that I know of. I wish he did though because I like the rain.

I will have to go look at that picture of your living room.

Red never told me about his day....

LOL

Well keep worrying, sparks + natural gas hot water heater room + closed door = potential danger. :roflmao2: :roflmao2:

My day has been ok. Did not really do much, but I did add a few motherboards and processors on my business site (http://services.iceteks.com).

I did a clean up in the wireing of my network, that took almost an hour. :roflmao2: So much wires! Never realized I had 2 ethernet cables dangling and they were not needed. I want to setup a software router with a 486, but I just don't understand this linux stuff. :grade11math: I need documentation to learn!

What distro are you trying to use? I used Mandrake 8.2 and Redhat 8.0. (I even downloaded those Redhat ISO files on dial-up!), and I had a great time with them. I think if my modem would have worked with Linux, I would be using it full time and undestanding it a lot better.

I don't know much about Linux though since I quit so early.

If I get a job, an apartment, my own life, etc., I plan to get a server and run FreeBSD. I was wanting to run Linux, but I am now convinced that FreeBSD would be the better --but more challenging-- choice.

Do you know him personally, Red? Both of you are from Canada, and you both seem to have known each other for a long time.

At one time we had 39, on Mar 10 2003, 12:49 AM. I was never here though.

Our "competition" record is 333. I quoted competition because I'm not really competing with them, but they are with us, so it sort of forces me to be at least a bit competitive. So far they are down in the dumps, we got: more articles, better looking site (actually custom html/php), 100+ ahead in votes... only thougher things are # of members and # of crunchers/UD points but that will eventually skyrocket, especially if this server starts being up more often.

Today I've been going back and forth, and would often come here quick but not post, so that's why I was a little slow. :P

It sure is hard to keep up with a squirrel. Especially with that cat of mine. :roflmao2: :roflmao2: She opens the screen door now to go attack birds.

Yeah I've known him since, hmm I don't remember, I think grade 3 or something like that.

It's Floppyfw

There's a bunch of how-to's on specific things, but I want to learn normal usage before getting advanced!

That is neat. I don't know anyone from that early anymore. Either they moved away, died (Yes, I am serious.), or changed so much and turned into someone I wouldn't want to know.
