Hiya..
What's up with this shard?
It popped up on the ranking with 2147 votes and 3 people on... Out of nowhere. Doesn't seem legit.

Re: UO White Wolf ??
That does seem fishy, and they don't have much users online so probably not a big shard, yet that many votes. Unfortunately I don't have much in terms of logging for detecting vote abnormalities. (something to add at some point I guess) However, we are fairly well due for a vote reset, so... done!
I also finally got off my butt and coded a script so that it will run monthly. I should have done that a long time ago.
I will look at adding more logging though, perhaps something that looks at vote trends and alarms if there is a sudden influx of votes. It's not possible to 100% stop proxy voting though, it's the nasty reality with stuff like this. That's why I added the sorting, since votes alone arn't really that great of an indicator. Heck even the onlines could potentially be spoofed, so that too should be taken with a grain of salt.

Re: UO White Wolf ??
Hello,
I would like to apologize for what happened to UO White Wolf on that time ...
It seems some "dedicated" players decided to use a "tool" to provide votes automatically. I don't know how they did it (probably using a proxy and a self developped program), and I don't want to know.
I just wanted to say that this wasn't the intention of the Owner of UO White Wolf to "cheat" or anything.
By the way, while I'm at it, I've removed UO White Wolf from UO Gateway. It seems the script is causing massive lag on peak times. I will still analyze how it behaves with UO Gateway pinging the shard, but I've already better latency and stability since I've removed the server from the UO Gateway list.
I personnaly think it comes from the Enhanced Client support scripts ... that might be outdated, and get in conflict with the UO Gateway scripts...
All this has to be confirmed yet, though.
Still, once again, sorry for the issues in March.

Re: UO White Wolf ??
Hi again !
Just to be clear and after some inquiries ... UO Gateway scripts have nothing to do on the lag issues.
It's server-side.
Thanks for your great service !
