Tailor BoD Waiting time

Post by Incriminate »

I know the reason for the wait time, however to me it seems a little counter productive.

The wait time between quests is currently 5 minutes. If a quest requires 600 horned leather, thats going to take me another 10-15 mins to collect. So total time for this is approximately 20 mins.

I know that the normal leather quests don't require any gathering, but technically they do because you need to buy the leather, and thus need to farm gold to do this also......

So my question is this:
Is the wait time between quests really required?
Sure it means I can do 30 tailor quests an hour, in stead of the 10 at current. But I'll then have to spend even more time farming leather. But all in all, it will allow me more time to actually enjoy the game, instead of sitting at luna bank bored out of my skull for 5 mins.

:S

The previous wait time for BOD quests was 6 hours between BOD collecting unless you hand in a completed BOD, which would reset the timer. Because the crafting quests are different, a 5 minute delay between quests was determined to be the cool down period between crafting quests.

Is 5 minutes a lot? Probably, considering the delay for other ML crafting quests is about 30 seconds or so.

If the crafting quests are converted to ML crafting quests then it will likely follow a similar cool down delay.

The CD for ML quests is 30 seconds between accepting quests. Thus by the time you've actually done the quest, the CD is over and your free to accept the next one.

You might be right on that one but I believe there is still a delay of about 10 seconds or so after you have completed the quest as this was their solution to avoid quest scripting in the heartwood (as well as disabled travel spells).

Be that as it may, the actual ML quest delays will be examined further and compared to our AOV BOD quests. The way it looks like now is it's very possible that the quest system will be ported over to use the ML system with a similar ML quest delay.

I personally agree that the 5 minute waiting time does not really serve a purpose as the time required to gather supplies and craft is enough time spent away from the quest giver. A smaller delay would suffice I'm sure.

With regards to anti-scripting, it's just a shame that EA forgot to take into consideration that both TrialMynx and myself played on OSI. Gogo TM's Heartwood Quester. The biggest annoyance was when someone either released their pet dragon on you, or place bag balls in the way to screw up the path finder :(

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to jail we go, with a crafting tool and a bag of boards, Hi Ho Hi Ho Hi Ho.

Teehee :P

Unfortunately somebody's got to ruin it for the rest of us, that's the way it goes sometimes. In finding ways to battle the scripters, the people who aren't scripters got caught in the crossfire.

We can consider it for the next publish in addition to other addressed concerns. It would need to be assessed first to determine if it's necessary and what would be an appropriate delay, if any at all.
