Sewer fail

Post by Red Squirrel »

A washing machine drain cycle gone wrong... totally wrong.

Sewer backup. :o:

I got lucky for catching that. If I had left it be and took my shower tomorrow or used the toilet a few times even tonight it would of been MUCH worse.

Notice the brown goo coming out of the sump pit. That, is a baconator, or perhaps last week's nachos. Yeah.... and notice the stack looks like it's about to burst. Water leaking out.

Managed to fix it with the plunger. Had someone called out for help and he checked it out and suggested I get it checked further by someone with a camera / fish line as there must be something in there blocking.

Actually we have pretty good codes now, but back when the house was built, not so much. I heard in the states they require crawlspaces to be vented from outside. now THAT is a water problem LOL.

Right now the way the sump is setup is probably against code, I don't think it's suppose to drain to the sewer...

Ended up fixing it myself but also had someone come over to take a look at it, it just so happened to start draining when he arrived so I gave the plumbing system a good "burn in" test and a "defrag" if you will and it's good to go. I let go the kitchen sink, washroom sink, and full bath tub all at the same time. Whatever was in there, I think I may of flushed it away. :P

we were looking at cabins up on Lake Kabenung last year. One of them was built on rock piles, we pushed it and it rolled a few inches.
