For those that don't have a VM server or spare PC to check out Windows 7 with I took a few random screenshots. More to come later.

Been testing it since the first release of the beta. It might convince me to upgrade XP tbh. The only downside is that razor doesn's show its stuff in the program bar :(

Bearing in mind I only ever had vista in beta and 1 month after and hated it so unsure what SP1 brought to it. But W7 seems a lot zippier in genral and more polished then vista. That combined with more control over that damn annoying UAC thing that got in your way unless you used one of many ways to remove it which defeated the point. Driver compotibility seems improved over when I had vista aswell

Does it also constantly take up 1GB of RAM for absolutely no reason (well, there is a reason, BLOAT)?

I noticed it's snapier then vista, though I'm running it in VirtualBox and I had run vista on VMware Server so not sure if that might of brought a performance difference. I did notice it's still has a much bigger requirement then xp though. For example if I just select a large area on the desktop, the selection rectangle UI processing makes the cpu spike to like 70% for about a second. A GUI that is intense like that is not a good sign.

Also when you use widgets and reboot, they all get shoved in one corner and you have to place them back.

I also find it funny that you need graphics acceleration to run Solitaire. I really want to see this serious high graphic solitaire game on a dual SLI kit. :o Maybe the most realistic electronic card game ever built?

There would be lot of stuff to adjust to as they keep changing stuff around, but I'll give it more time and see. I probably wont budge from XP until it's been out for a few years anyway. I only upgraded to XP when SP2 was out, and the bugs in it sorted.

Last I had read up on Windows 7, it did not, nor have any plans to support SLI or Crossfire, which blows serious donkey nutz.... And not in the hot sexy Tijuana way either......

XP and vista don't support crossfire or SLI. Because its down to ATI and NVIDIA to write drivers to do that. It doesn't mean they won't work in W7. Just that when you have a fresh install of W7 you will have to install the drivers yourself from the disk/site no biggie tbh as it means whenever you install W& you will usualy get the latest drivers off the site

Actually Vista does support SLI, even to the extent that it will allow the GPU to run the tasks of the CPU when not in use. Awesome feature btw, but 7 looks to offer no such amenities. If thats the case we will most likely be seeing many more of the 2xx type cards rolling out of Invidia and probably 3xx and 4xx's that allow you to run 3 or 4 video cards as 1 unit, which isnt nearly as effective. Hope they continue to offer support for Vista, while Im not a fan of it really, I do very much enjoy my quad 280 oc 9 GPU setup (9800 for physicx engine) Not all that excited about touch screen anyways. Nothing like a good porn induced flogging then wiping your goo dripping hands across the screen to flip back to Disney cartoons.

Linkage please, as all I have heared about your CPU using your GPU to process has been proof of concept

That may be one of the more disturbing things you've ever said, and that's saying something.
Also, don't pretend like you weren't looking at the Disney cartoons in the first place anyway.

Ok, all of them are NVIDIA. So yeah, I am out of date with my GPU processing knowledge, but its down to NVIDIA to support W7 not W7 to support NVIDIA stuff.

I fail to see NVIDIA not supporting it tbh as W7 will probably be widely taken up and they would just be shooting themselves in the foot.

Oh, and VISTA will be supported till 2011 they're saying atm. Which is a shorter lifespan than XP lol

Didn't check your last link till now lol. Point proved. NVIDIA would be silly not to. And also proves my point that its NVIDIA/ATI that has to support W7 for crossfire/SLI not the other way

Well as history shows, Microshit pushes out new OS's much more regularly than was the case with XP as SP2 was basically a new OS ( only that it was required to fix all the broken shit leaving the system so vulnerable)

So if you look at Vistas lifespan, you can compare it to half that of XP
