Our toilet downstairs has been acting up. I did some basic troubleshooting and determined the fillpro valve was not working correctly. (this: http://mclendons.com/img/products/10/10447280.jpg) Basically it would not run long enough to fill the tank, then get stuck in a very slow stream rather then full fill capacity, so it would very slowly fill over the course of hours.
So I went to Canadian Tire and bought one and installed it in under half an hour. Actually very easy, I bought some thread tape figuring I'd need it, and not even, as the fittings are all plastic and fit tightly for no leaks. Now the toilet fills properly and does not keep running all night long.

lol yeah I know what you mean, I usually just skim through the instructions when installing something or completely miss them all together... I prefer to be lazy and let my incredible problem solving brain do all the work.
No wonder I have so many half-finished projects and stuff that refuses to work

Actually TBH I only read through the instructions once, it seemed so easy, then I let common sense do the rest of the work. :p
Probably why I ended up with a spare washer.
Then there's yesterday when I accidentally vacuumed oil with the vacuum, and it stopped working later that day. I opened it up, laid out the parts such as the motor and the spring cable reel, and canister, cleaned it all, then just used common sense when redoing the electrical. At one point I screwed it up and if I had not noticed, the power nozzle would be working even if the vacuum is off. :p Good thing I caught that.
So yeah, next time I vacuum my car, I'm going to the car wash and paying 2 dollars to use their vacuum. LOL

Either that washer was a spare included in the set or you're in for a surprise next time you go sit down on the pot....Red Squirrel wrote: Probably why I ended up with a spare washer.

I had a glovebox full of extra parts that I had no idea where they came off of after changing the transmission in my jeep. When I sold it, I think I hid them somewhere in the jeep. Just in case the new owner needed them sometime down the road.

I had to go for a big one when I was done, so it's already been some stress testing.Death wrote:Either that washer was a spare included in the set or you're in for a surprise next time you go sit down on the pot....Red Squirrel wrote: Probably why I ended up with a spare washer.

If you don't have parts left over after a project you didn't do it right.
