How BORING is fishing?

For christ sake! I fish and fish and fish and fish annnnnnnd fish. Its so god awful. But I so desperately want to find stuff! All I ever freaking catch is fish. Is there like some ancient chinese secret to getting something interesting more often? I'd reallllly like to know. My dream of killing a Leviathin seems to die a little more each day. (Because thats all I dream about. That...and pizza. Pizza good for Kryptus.)

Ya, fishing has always been incredibly boring. I used to do the nods while fishing on my boat. I had hoped to breathe some life into the days of fishing by introducing more elements to fishing such as pirates and different water monsters but time did not permit (But maybe after the revamp!).

For now just fry up those fish steaks and keep your energy up for the times the sea serpents surface!

I ended up ordering a small Double Bacon Cheezburger pizza. Was awesome. Two pieces left for tomorrow.

fishing isnt that bad. It really really helps when you have multiple people fishing from the same boat. Oh and luck really spices things up.

Wow a luck suit makes a difference in fishing? Didn't know that.

Fishing with someone is better, that way you have double the chances of getting a sos and somebody to have a yarn with.

Me and death used to fish on demise then accumulate enough green nets so we can shoot like 10 at once. Then we got other evp members involved and they thought we were insane. Many boad deaths were involved. Fun times.

God we had so much fun back in the day. I reamber when we were using the fabled nets. Think i have a SS around here someware.

Actually, that's a fixed value too but in the future I want luck to have a more profound effect on everything by making a luck formula which will increase the chances for all special items.

i doubt it would, when it drops an sos it says at the bottom left of your screen "You pulled out an sos! and a monster!"

and its on the monster. (i know thats not exactly what it says but thats basically it.)

Fishing is and has always been boring but I do enjoy it. When I stopped UO they had just introduced green nets. I see they've gone a lot farther now.

It's not yet been touched no. We are revising the property system and making it more expandable for development so that adding bonuses and properties to items is a lot easier and efficient than what it currently is.

As the property system applies to crafting, loot and treasure, no work is being done to loot packs or chest loot (Including dungeon chests, treasure map chests, chest of heirlooms and SOS chests) as all of the above would be redone shortly afterward which defeats the purpose of doing it mid-way.

Usually we'd be able to give an ETA on this kind of thing but the shard is in the middle of a large scale transition in terms of architecture and future systems remodeling which will take up a lot of time and has to be done first before any content updates are worked on.

What we CAN tell for certain though is the progress we have made at certain stages of the revamp to inform players. I'll see about adding a master thread in the news or revamp section a bit later.
