Bushido criticals are capped on melee samurais but not on archers in pvp. This doesn't make sense because melee characters are harder to play in pvp, so why would you nerf melee but not touch archery. I'm not saying you should nerf archers. With the ninja nerf a sammy archer is the only "pure" warrior type archer left to play in pvp, but nerfing criticals for meleers in pvp is ridiculous since meleers actually have to run people down.

It just doent make sense than I can be criticalled for 67 damage from an archer but when I finally run him down enough to hit him often enough to critical my crit is only for 35 damage. I mean in the time it takes to run an archer down with a meleer they have plenty of time to heal. And yet they just have to be on the same screen to deal out damage. If anything Meleers should hit harder than archers, not the other way around.

Also as a side note, 35 damage cap on so many things should be seriously re thought if in the revamp you allow players to hit the 200 hp cap.

That's because archery is not SUPPOSED to be doing criticals higher than 35, that's a bug and I'm glad you brought that up so it can be fixed.

Well It should not be capped at 35 for meleers.

1. Meleers have to run people down.
2. The low chance of critcal coupled with the huge disadvantage of having to run people down, means that you hit less often.
3. Playing one of the pure dexxer meleers means you have like no chance of killing anyone who can heal even decently unless its in a closed in space.

I'm not saying that criticals should be uncapped for melee, but 35 is way too low. Maybe somethign like 45-50.

lightning strikes costs virtually 0 mana it is so cheap.

It adds HCI to the hits, and can push your damage up to 35, I think that those bonuses are well worth it for the mana cost of lightning strike.

If you want to be able to spam( no delay like specials) a spell that costs 3-5 mana and do 40-50 dmg hits on archer/dexxer you aren't thinking clearly.

Yeah cuz you can totally "spam" soemthing that you can only land when someone stands still and allows you to get onto a tile directly adjacent to them. I can "Spam" AI by your definition because if someone with the same ping as you or better is fighting you, you won't be able to hit them nearly as often.

5 != 0 by the way. and unless the dexxer has LMC it can actually drain out their mana pool which on for the majority of them is far smaller to begin with.

Using that as an argument mage mini heals are OP then too. I mean on 2/6 with max LMC they are almost free, almost instentaneous, and can heal for up to 20 damage with the right scrolls. See how ludicrous that sounds?

I'm thinking clearly.

Here, let me put it into a logical form so you can understand it more clearly. Apparently you actually missed the fact that this is a fully logical argument.

Given: Meleers hit less often because other people can move out of their way, IE move out of the adjacent square, IE run. (unlike any other form of damage output [single spells like harm aside], which can hit from just about as far as you can see on the screen).

Therefore, they have a significant handicap that no other class' form of damage output has.

Ergo, having the damage they can inflict, WHEN they inflict it, be slightly more. (I never said crit every hit, never said excessive amounts of damage) would only balance a class that is rarely played in the field (As evidenced by almost all pvpers on shard being archers or mages, myself included).

FACTS:
-Lightning Strike costs significantly less mana than special moves.
-Any weapon can use lightning strike, while specials are bound to specific weapons.
-Lightning Strike does not follow the delay timer like special moves (that is what I meant, your "mini-heal" comparison holds no relevance).
-Lightning Strike adds HCI to your hits, something that no special on any weapon does.

You're argument is that despite having clear advantages that other mvoes do not have Lightning Strike should have a chance to do more damage than any other dexxer related spell or special (which are hard capped at 35). I agree, playing dexxers compare to archers is harder, but they get to use: Ki attack, Focus Attack, get better damage with deathstrike, AND HAVE ACCESS TO DISARM WEPS. My dexxer Loler is a macer with 120 bushido, but I do not think that lightning strike needs a boost. If you want offense, get ninja, bushido is actually meant to be defensive (confidence, evasion, extra parry).

Yea, you're right, you're argument is completely logical, considers all the facts, and isn't biased at all......Not.

Hush.

There are two things being discussed in parallel here which is not helping:
1) There is a discrepancy between melee and archery lightning strike damage
2) Lightning strike damage irregardless of template does not do enough damage

I'm pretty sure everyone wants to fix 1)?

For 2), lightning strike has a much lower chance to actually land a critical than a special shot does. And it's chance to hit is based on bushido, so it's only really useful if you have 120. For a special, all you need to do is land a regular hit and if you're not in cool-down, the special hits 100%. With 120 bush, a critical will hit once in maybe 6 - 8 shots (this is way longer than a special's cool-down), so it isn't really fair to compare it so closely to a special.

Dont see how crits matter that much i got 120 bushido tonight, trained it, Played for about 4 hours and never scored a single crit. Way to go random number generator.
Extra parry lol ? from bushido? My axer has bushido and he gets hit as often now as he did before he had any at all
