I went to the fire dungeon to kill some Mages to collect their blue sandies but none were ever in loot. I have also been searching the land for a bride wearing silver sandies but have not located any. Are these not available or am I just having some bad IRL luck finding them?
Also it would be nice to have a black sandie spawn as well. That was a major bummer when OSI made all npc vendors unattackable! I spent hours collecting black sandies back in the day.

Not a bad idea. Reminds me when I was a noob and I was doing an escort and I'm like "nice boots..." went to chaos dungeon to get it killed and took the boots.

I used to buy a Blades scroll when I was 60s magery and take an Adventurer to my house and cast it. The spirits would kill them. Also I cannot count how many brides I killed in my day to get their silver sandies.
So are the Silver and Blue sandies available?

I assume not if they don't drop, but it's something we could look into. Technically it only makes sense that any clothing does drop, and considering there's no special properties I see no issue with it either. I'll have to check the code when I get the chance.

Regular brown sandies drop as clothing on them when blue should instead...

The mage castle your thinking of is in Shame.
And black sandles are possible here, I've got a pair I made a while back. What you have to do is kill the berserkers because they drop black boots. Cut them up and they will give you one yard of black leather. Just kill enough to get the amount needed for sandles, and then make sandles. Make sure you have regular leather selected and it's the only pile in your pack. The crafted sandles will adopt the hue of the leather.

Where do berserkers spawn?

A number of places. Usually around brigands. Two that immediately come to mind are the small tower south of the Meer Village and the brigand camp west of the Sorcerer's Dungeon in Ilshenar.
I believe there is also a spawn along the road south of Luna. A ways down, over the long bridge and down the road a bit.

No Im talking about the two buildings next to each other with ledges that walked around the bottom of them and a connecting bridge full of evil mages.

Ok, I think what your thinking of is in Fire. Not sure what level it is on though. But I'm thinking it's on level 2, in the southwest corner. Could be wrong though.Colors of Wanker wrote:No Im talking about the two buildings next to each other with ledges that walked around the bottom of them and a connecting bridge full of evil mages.

If you can provide a bit more information on the monster/mobile you seek we can get our research team to confirm the existance of said sandals. The mages are coded according to the original runuo script so it may not have been updated in a while or it may be missing minor details that we can certainly add in provided there's justification.Colors of Wanker wrote:I went to the fire dungeon to kill some Mages to collect their blue sandies but none were ever in loot. The blue sandles are worn by the Mages in those 2 buildings for sure as that was where I farmed them back on osi. I thought they spawned on the ones in the begining of the dungeon but could be wrong.Death wrote:

Brides spawn with either grey shoes or grey/silver sandles. I do know i have been having trouble locating a bride with the silver sandies though....

And the old true black sandles spawned on jewelers. I know a lot a people a long time ago used to lure the vendor out of the guard zone and then kill them to loot the sandles. I think it was easiest to do this in Papua and Bucs, but it's been a long time. Besides, you can't attack vendors anymore.

I used to kill Jewlers in Jhelome with tamed wolves... Then I think it was either Nujelum or Magincinia that had a Jewler building right on the edge of town and I would cast fire fields and poison fields to kill them...

Bride escorts you mean? There's bride escorts, they just don't have the silver shows & sandals anymore.
I think all the colored sandals were removed from NPC spawns, for whatever reason, on OSI many publishes ago. So, they're probably not set up to spawn with any special colored items on Run UO shards.
But why not? It was cool and I can't think of any harm in it?

I think they did away with the evil mage sandals when they changed the mob art. I remember killing them to try and collect all the different hues.
Used to actually be a market for evil mage sandals, albeit a small one.

That's a possibility as there are a few OSI rarities that were eventually removed or changed in game. Back in the day there used to be a deceit puzzle involving a lich that dropped a black dye tub which I believe no longer exists. Eventually, some things end up changing but I'm not against bringing back some nostalgia provided it's nothing that would significantly alter gameplay (Silver sandals would be fine for example)

A little off topic here...but...this doesn't just work for berserker boots. You can purchase boots from cobblers, dye them black, cut them up and get black leather. Additionally, sandals aren't the only thing you can make with said black leather. I'm currently wearing pure black femme armour. So...is this a bug that we aren't to exploit, or can we keep this in the name of fashion?Nexus Graveheart wrote: And black sandles are possible here, I've got a pair I made a while back. Before you answer...think for a moment about exactly how sexy I currently look. Think really hard. Then answer.
EDIT: This works for every colour. All of them. If you can dye boots x colour, you can cut them up and turn it all into leather anything.
