Runuo VS. Sphere

Post by LordWolfX »

Sphere has been around longer (Pro or Con?)

Due to what Squirrel said of wanting to just script his own because of RunUOs relative age/many overhauls, id say the Pro of RunUO is that its younger lol

Runuo VS. Sphere

Sphere is coded in C++ so assuming they sticked to mostly STL and not windows specific stuff, it should be fairly easy to compile under Linux, which is the proper OS for running any server application.

RunUO on the other hand has a better code base, generally - though I'm just basing that on what I've heard. I never really played with sphere tbh just heard the code is horridly organized, so it's probably worse then RunUO, but I can't really judge it until I try it. RunUO has it's fair share of horrid code too, that I still need to get around to recoding.

AFAIK sphere is still developing, while RunUO stopped, so that would be a pro for someone wanting to get a shard going fast.
