Try trammel and felucca, it could possibly be in either. If it's still a no go, I will take a look at it when I am online.

Yeah, it's most likely in a different facet. It's a pain in the ass sometimes, especially when you travel to one that is far away from any land, only to find out it's located in another facet.

It'd be nice if the SoS would tell you what facet the ship went down in, like treasure maps telling you which facet it's buried in.

Ya, that's the old style SOS code. Actually, we may decide to change that as it doesn't label tokuno which is also a possibility (RUNUO ftl).

Not sure if leviathans can come up as supremes. But I've pulled up supreme water elementals and krakens before from normal nets.

If you and Squirrel hate RunUO so much why don't you write your own emulator? If it weren't for RunUO you wouldn't even have a shard....

And Squirrel, I haven't banned your latest account on the forums but I am keeping an eye on it so try to behave yourself, yeah?

I don't code numbnuts, I just volunteer my time on Demise to assist players. I actually used to play with Squirrel and everyone else in EVP and it saddens me to see how far down they have fallen.

Please be a forum nazi on Demise. We really don't need your ever pleasant and witty insight here Caine.

Everyone chill. Caine has a right to speak his mind just like everyone else on this forum. If we have the right on Demise, then why should it be any different for him?

To answer Caine's previous question of "How about we code our own emulator", there are already plans to pursue that.

Runuo is a good base to work with and has accomplished a lot, don't get me wrong. It would be a pain in the ass to recode all those mobiles and items. However, the coding practices they have used and some of the code structures are poorly designed or coded. If they aren't efficient, they should be recoded. Having worked with runuo for over a year and a half, we have seen their code, worked with it and agree that there are many faults which can (should) be fixed.

AOV runs a highly modified core and will be completely different from RUNUO in the long run once the major systems are coded in. Our distribution contains many missing elements of runuo and dozens of systems have been redesigned.

As for the EVP thing on demise, I know it was once a guild with many staff chars. Ferris and Amnesia were both members I knew about. Which character did you play? (If you don't feel like disclosing that information, I understand. Just curious if I remember the char).

I can't say since I still staff there (mostly inactive but still around to delete jrhathers posts at random to piss him off) but I was a long standing member of EVP. I don't bother to play Demise anymore, UO has lost its luster for me, I actually haven't played much since I started staffing and since DieIRL stopped playing.

Edit: I tried to PM you something as well Death but I can't because I don't have 10 posts yet, so you will have to wait until I have them :)

I would not say that we hate it. It's a good try, and a good start, at making a UO server. It's just that it has tons of bad coding practices as well as some coding conventions do not take into account any future changes not to mention lot of missing stuff that OSI has had for over 3 years.

But that said RunUO is still a good base so we chose to get started off with it and go from there and start filling all the missing blocks. Some of these blocks require a fleet of 10,000 cement trucks, but it gets done, eventually.

We also have some plans to totally revamp some of it's core systems. Enough to pretty much call it a separate branch (Same idea as like RunUORE and such)

As for EVP one of the main reasons it died was because people got tired of the lack of progress on Demise. Originally this shard was actually a private place for us to hang out when we were bored, everyone had an admin account and we made a huge city in green acres out of boredom. Then we went live and started back from scratch but most people were just not into UO anymore to restart. We've tried to revive it many times.

Also I don't want to give the impression that we hate Demise, its not quite that. In fact, it saddens me that a shard with as much potential as Demise does not have the motivation to make it run to it's full potential.

QFT

This is why I haven't done something stupid to get banned from the server. This is why I still have my accounts, a house full of crap and my stable full of pets. I think they call it 'hope'.

Then again, I used to have accounts on Crystalgate, Neverlands and The Alter Realm. They all died. Some, several times.

I left NL due to the lack of staff at all levels. Sometimes the server would be down for a day or two, because no one checked to see if it was up.

I left TAR because everyone was feeling the iron fist of a tyrannical gm/admin/dev/owner who would ban ppl for criticism and randomly do whatever struck his schitzo whim. I badmouthed him LARGE after I came back from a weekend away to find my houses deleted. He claimed he never did it, that it was a bug in the POL 95 system.... I somehow doubt that.

I have come back to CG off and on for years. Literally since its golden days in 1999. I've always loved their crafting system. Like...15 types of hides in different colors all with different abilities, 20 different ores, 20 different woods, magical clothes (very much like our masterpiece system, suddenly a skill-level piece would appear that was tinted differently and would add stat bonuses up to +15 at 120 tailoring) They also had the most incredible +skill jewelry crafting system I've ever seen.
...but with only one, possibly two staff doing all the work. Well...I guess they got bored. They used to host over 400 players at any given time, and these are single accounts, not multi like Demise. Now, at any given time, if I log on...I'm the only one.

I don't want to see Demise turn into a shit heap...but it appears to heading in that direction.
