Not sure of the intracasies of it, but I don't think it's working correctly at the moment. Last night, I was playing around on test, and whenever I'd lay a Field, it would have a smidge of a delay, but almost poison immediately.
Playing around on my new Poisoner on the shard, the Field is not poisoning anything, it's just decoration at the moment. =/ Unless there's something I'm missing?

Posion Field ..
It works for me. Have to be in fel (unless you're using it for pvm in tram) for it to poison anyone apposing. So if you're blue and a red or blue walks over your field, they get poisoned. Same with a red, but PKs get to target everyone whenever they walk through the field, unless guilded/allied.
What doesn't work on it, is it doesn't reveal people when they get poisoned.

I was trying the farmer spawn, and the Fields weren't doing a thing. Just tried it in Tram Despise and it worked.

Poison field is kind of devious in that respect. It's actually a hidden field that is gradually revealed when casted. So it actually exists and can poison, although players don't see it until it is revealed.Minky wrote:Not sure of the intracasies of it, but I don't think it's working correctly at the moment. Poison field, like every other spell, is affected by the reputation system. So if you cast poison field and are good, it won't hit good aligned creatures. Example: a blue character casting poison field on a blue pixie will not harm it because of reputation. If you or the pixie are grey or you flagged it, then it will.

Horses and pig and other animals that only attack you if you attack them first are like that because of the reputation system. Any area spell will not hit them unless you have first caused them to attack you (IE: shot them with a magic arrow to piss them off).Minky wrote:I was trying the farmer spawn, and the Fields weren't doing a thing. Yeah I changed something with the rep system so pigs and such WILL be hit. It was brought up more then once now and figured its best to change it. Should work on TC1 atm for farmer spawn. The original idea behind this though was if your a paladin and cast an area spell you would want it to only hit the bad guys. But if your a paladin trying to do such spawn then its kind of hard, so removed that.
Theres a crash issue in the stuff pending to update so once I figure it out I'll release that update.

From what I've observed, poison (and other damage for that matter) doesn't break stealth. Thus a rogue can step over many traps (poison or others), get hit by aoes, and pass through unnoticed altho maybe a little wounded.sliptongue69 wrote:It works for me. True, but when you're flagged on someone or someone flags you, you should be revealed.

Think that might be intentional as area spells like wither or magic fields don't reveal you on demise for example (If you're close enough though, you'll get a "you are attacking SO and SO" message).upidstupid wrote:From what I've observed, poison (and other damage for that matter) doesn't break stealth. Mind you, demise doesn't get things right about 60% of the time so it's not surprising if it's been wrong all along. Could possibly make it so fields do reveal a stealther if they walk through it because they're relatively easy to avoid.
Area spells causing them to reveal on the other hand would destroy stealthers.
