New Reflects

How about we add a few new item properties to the game...
Reflect Fire Damage
Reflect Electric Damage
Reflect Cold Damage
Reflect Poison Damage

Why aren't these in there anyway? I swear OSI get an idea and stops halfway through the implamentation. :D

interesting idea, but imagine someone building a suit with 50% all the reflects (the cap) + bloodoath, you would be taking 66% of the damage that the actual attacker would be doing to themselves (+ whatever extra damage they do). Would be a little too good. Also would be extremely crazy in pvm and allow any boss monster to kill itself quick if it has high magery.

Interesting idea but I think the main reason reflect physical exists is for reflecting melee damage. The ones you posted are mostly reflective on spells (Unless you have a fire damage wep or something). If you had those reflects, the damage a mage would do to you would get reflected back at them, causing them damage and likely fizzle them, not to mention if more than one of those can exist on a single piece. Would be like having a constant blood oath that would be a nuissance to mages.

What if it did ONLY apply to elemental melee damage?
If i understand how damage works, LOTS of mobs do elemental damage with there melee hits.

If memory serves me right, it reflects all types of melee, regardless if the damage is physical or not. Something to check out.

think it goes by the physical type. Stuff like earthquake is physical so it would reflect that as well. I know it reflects stuff like deathstrike as well. Even 1% reflect can save you from having a ninja mage cast a huge insnae combo on you as when the DS hits it will fizzle them. You can take advantage of this by running 5 steps at the most appropriate time.

Wait a sec, its fair in PvP for a mage to have reflect physical (When mages already generally ahve a faster damage pontential) But if a dexxer were to sacrafice other things on their suit to make a reflect suit from the elements (If it were implemented) it wouldn't be fair?

I've been thinking about suggesting this same thing. Instead of reflect physical ONLY we should make it a random type of reflect. But just keep it on the same % as reflect phys is now.

So you get a peice of armor spawned on a drop. In the normal equation is commeback with add Reflect 40% Intensity. Then it rolls for a random element. So that way we could just split up all the elements without having a chance of a peice have 15% reflect to 5 elements (Max would be 1 random one). This would keep it from becoming gimp as the 50 relfect woudl still apply to each and you would not be able equip enough peices to hit the cap on more than about 2 elements. Not to mention that to do that even you woudl have to sacrafice alot of other things on your suit.

The reflect would fizzle mages during comboes which would have a severe impact. At least with dexxers, their attacks are toggled or do not take as long to cast so if they get fizzled, it's not as major.

Ah yes, the fizzling could be devastating, I had not thought of that. Maybe it woould be an option if there is some way to make elemental reflect damage non disrupting but I can see where that might be a larger undertaking.
