Breathing life into some of the unused skills

Wrestling has always been an exception with magery. There's a calculation with magery and wrestling that is used in lieu of tactics/anatomy already.

In the case of a wrestle mage who only has 2 special shot capabilities at any given time, wrestling does not fall under this rule so tactics would not be a requirement, just your wrestling skill.

This would only apply to wielded weapon skills such as swords, macing, fencing and archery.

Although I don't fight much else, I enjoy hunting down dragons and such, and it would be kinda cool if they were a little harder to peace. Hmmm, looks like I need to start farming marties, so I can get a collection of Iolo lutes, and Gwenno harps xD (I would farm tot's for FoR's but people tend to go into the spawn and screw it over with kappa's :-/)
A lot of the UOML creatures would be peaceable, including certain named creatures. It might also be applied to bosses but the effects would be short (like 2 second peacing, just to run away). They are bosses after all.

Overall, you'd be able to peace creatures who currently have "canbepeacemade" set to false which means that no matter your skill in barding, you could never peace them (Think mostly named creatures have that and certain few UOML/custom creatures).

I kinda like what OSI did with it. They retained the length of Peace so long as you're not damaging the target. But as soon as they receive damage, they forget their being calmed. That way the skill still retains value for Taming and for Get-Aways. (damage includes cursing via magery, and the first tic of Poison, not the initial shot of it.)

Ya, target breaking will be done better in that respect hopefully. So peacemaking will be useful for calming the beast and keeping it from attacking you while at the same time, not just paralyzing it, keeping it a sitting duck.
