Do any of you clip coupons? I’ve been doing it for three weeks now, not so much for the savings as for the challenge of getting something for free (plus our hefty sales tax). I can’t believe I have so much fun doing it.

I use the restaraunt coupons that come with the paper sometimes. Like Quiznos or Arbys. Yum Yum!

There’s nothing like opening the Sunday paper and realizing that Kroger has salad dressing on sale for $1.49 and that you have 11 coupons for $1.50 off one. And sometimes the deals aren’t even advertised, which is why you have to carry your coupon binder at all times!Chyse wrote: Wow...really? Coupons? Sounds very boring...
(I use Kroger as an example because I love Kroger.)

I saw an article in my newspaper just today that said that coupons are making a big come-back due to the current economy. When I was growing up, my mom had several inches of coupons in a packet in her purse, and we hardly bought anything that we didn't have a coupon for.

You can spend more money with coupons if you’re not careful, e.g., buying name-brand items when the off-brand is still cheaper, buying things you don’t even need, etc.Bookworm wrote: I saw an article in my newspaper just today that said that coupons are making a big come-back due to the current economy.
That was my method at first, but it takes a while to find anything. Now I use a binder with those little sleeves that card collectors use. Coupons are organized by category (cat food, drinks, etc.) and then the duplicates are sorted by expiration date in the same sleeve. When I had fewer coupons, I put all the coupons in alphabetical order by brand, but that took forever.Bookworm wrote: When I was growing up, my mom had several inches of coupons in a packet in her purse, and we hardly bought anything that we didn't have a coupon for.
