Clueless in France

Post by Bookworm »

Actually, as I'm writing this, she's not in France yet, but she's on her way. She should get there sometime Friday morning. I really really really hope that I don't hear about any plane crashes on the news when I get up in the morning.

Well if you do, theres 100's of planes in the air at any given time so the chances are slim that its her's. now if the crash involves two planes colliding, then the chances double.

Speaking of planes, I've never been in one. Would love to have to opportunity one day. Maybe my work place will send me somewhere or something. would be cool.

She did make it to France safely this morning. The teacher who is on the trip with her was going to record a daily message on his school answering machine, but he hasn't updated the message yet. I know that the family Clueless is staying with has a computer, so maybe Clueless will get a chance to read this thread.

HELLO THERE, CLUELESS. I HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A FUN TIME.

(I figured I had better shout since France is so far away.)

If Clueless reads this forum while she’s in France, I will beat her with a baguette.

Enjoy your trip, don’t drink too much, etc. :P What cities are you visiting?

Hey, don't say that. You'll scare her away. Nobody would want to be beaten with a baguette.

Especially a stale, dried out baguette... they might get a flesh-eating bacterial infection!

So that's where those flesh-eating bacterial infections hide out, in stale dried out baguettes.
I never knew.

lol the toilets here are strange, yes. and i picked this name when i was like 14. it would prolly be something wayyy different if i could pick it now. im staying in a town near Rennes right now. i went shopping in Rennes on saturday and went to a bar/restaurant in the evening to sing some french karaoke. it was very entertaining. im going to school with my host sister tomorrow and the day after im heading back to paris and touring a couple of chateaus on the way. hey dad? did i give you guys the itinerary with the time of my flights on it? i cant remember. it might still be in my room. anyways, i should be getting to the airport at 8:16 pm on saturday

I haven't seen the itinerary lately, but I think I made my own copy of it, so I should have it somewhere. I am thinking of just waiting at my dad's house until you call me to tell me that you've picked up your luggage from baggage claim. That way you just have to wait twenty more minutes for me, and I can just drive up to the doors to pick you up. My dad says that there are doors on the lower level that are marked with the airline's names, but I can't just park indefinitely at those doors. The last time my dad had to pick up your cousin Nathan, he had to drive around the loop six times until Nathan showed up at the doors. It should be easier for us since we both have phones. Is your recharger working okay? This whole plan depends on your phone working, but if you have to, you can find a pay phone at the airport and then just watch for me. You do have my cell phone number in your head, don't you?

I'm glad you're having a good time. I'm not sure I want to know about the strange toilets.

haha could be worse, I've been working at the hospital, and when you flush the toilets there, its a 50/50 chance that you or something you own gets sucked in and never seen again. Those toilets are so powerful its crazy.

I still want to hit a situation where I'm on a cell phone with another tech so I can flush the toilet and say "ok I just rebooted the server..."

Oh wonderful. I can just imagine the headlines, "Minnesota Girl Defects to France."

See you on Saturday.

Very neat! I've always wanted to visit Brittany, particularly Rennes.

Hope you enjoyed the change of scenery!
