Should I join Facebook?

I hate blogs. My friend has been bugging me to join, should I? Or should I come up with some stupid reason not to?

My high-school friends bugged me to join. I finally gave in because I didn’t think we would keep in touch otherwise.

I say join. You have the option of deactivating your account if you change your mind.

True, joining doesn't mean you actually have to -do- anything with it. I'm on MySpace for similar reasons. I just log in every now and again to keep in touch with a handful of friends I don't see that often. I don't really have any pictures up or anything. Nor do actively seek to build up my friends list.

You shouldn't join because a potential employer may look up your account and decide not to hire you because of a stupid comment that someone has posted on your page.

No, but that is a good reason not to be stupid enough to display your real name on you face book page. There should be a setting to keep it hidden, but of course you can always use a fake name.
