What I'm supposed to like the guy just because half the country was stupid enough to vote for him? (and even that is debatable)
No leader deserves any trust or respect or love or anything simply because he is a leader. Those are things that must be earned. And Bush hasn't earned them from me.

You know, whenever someone speculates he didn't really win, but it was rigged, never present any good, sensible evidence. The only evidence they have is either complete crap, or just the fact that they don't like him. Are you one of those people?
By the way, it doesn't take half the country to vote for someone and for that person to end up winning. So it's still not debatable for the first term. He didn't get 1/2. And I'm going to make the boldly arrogant statement that it wasn't rigged either! First or second!

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time.

Admittedly outright bashing isn't the most productive way to go. But I see no problems with making you issues with the administration known. America has this problem with tacit approval.

The reason why people who don't like the elected candidate question the validity of the election is because elections in the country aren't exactly infallible. If the election was rigged in Bush's favor he sure wasn't the first person to do it. My point was that a rather large amount of trust goes into counting those votes, and one can never really be sure if every vote was counted and counted correctly (especially with Diebold voting machines). Particularly after Bush was elected for the first term, there was a big push to update voting procedures without much thought to whether or not they were secure.
And it's not much of a defense for the president to say he won his first term on such a slim margin after a court battle. A technicality does not a good leader make.

I don't like the idea of bashing people in general because it detracts from meaningful discussion of the issues at hand, whether it's the President or someone on a web forum. I would prefer a society where people educated themselves about the issues, rather than form their opinions by political cartoons, advertisments, or pop culture. Too many people seem to fail to think critically about things.

Well if people educated themselves about the issues, Bush wouldn't be president
