Does anyone look at the number of views of a topic and wonder why so many people viewed that many times but only posted a small amount...
Does anyone look and think hmmm, I wonder if the post count in the thread could ever beat the number of views?

I don't think the post number can defeat the number of views. At most they could be even. But yes I do think about the 200 views and 1 post sometimes.

yeah sometimes but doesnt bother me and it could only have more posts if it doesnt count if you post and then look at the thread.

Actually I think that happened once before on this very forum (A long, long, long time ago, back when Magic ran this place). There was some kind of smilie spam thread here that actually had more posts than views. I forget what it was called. But I think we've started over once or twice since then.

oh yeah, more posts then views. think that was my fault. I was testing a bot program and... it worked. Unlike using a browser, it would not reload the thread after posting, was just a http post in a loop....

I've also trashed spam sites with a similar program. scam mortgage site with an app form... use their own server's email for order confirmation, loop 1kk times...... youtch.

I've never wondered either of those things.

Does anyone ever look at a new thread and wonder why the person starting the thread didn't just make their comment in the world's longest thread?

Exactly...there wouldn't be that many threads then, and lots of threads are good because it means the forum looks much bigger

Plus the worlds longest thread or whatever the name of it is, is imo really long..hehe...and annoying.
