To eat salt.
If I was to eat salty foods for a month straight and I mean foods that might be good or bad but high in salt and nothing else but water, what would be the outcome?

too much salt could kill you, but that depends on how much you're eating

You may get pretty sick. And gain lots of weight, but like Clueless said, it depends on how much you eat. I recommend seeing Super Size Me if you haven't:

salt makes you thirsty, so as a result, you'll drink more water, and water is good for you, since you need like 18 cups a day or something, and I doubt anyone even gets near that unless they want to spend the day at the john leaking it out.

Exactly, so surely eating this type of food and drinking a *atchoo* load of water would keep you from becoming ill...thats my bet...but I don't know much to do with the body etc.

well i found this on wikipedia iono if it helpsSodium is one of the primary electrolytes in the body. All three electrolytes (sodium, potassium, and calcium) are available in unrefined salt, as are other vital minerals needed for optimal bodily function. Too much or too little salt in the diet can lead to muscle cramps, dizziness, or even an electrolyte disturbance, which can cause severe, even fatal, neurological problems.[3] Drinking too much water, with insufficient salt intake, puts a person at risk of water intoxication. Salt is even sometimes used as a health aid, such as in treatment of dysautonomia.[4]

water intoxication? Wow, I never heard that one before.
I've probably come to the edge of that before then. When I'm sick I force myself to drink tons of water, since it helps flush out the system. Guess for it to be bad it would have to be a ridiculous amount, and fast. Like chugging a whole 16 litre bottle in under 10 minutes. You're not done and it's just coming out the front end at the same time.

to make issues worse,
During the contest, a nurse identified as Eva called the show and gave an on-air warning that drinking too much water is hazardous and potentially deadly. The disk jockeys rebuffed the nurse, saying the contestants had signed waivers
In addition, the DJs ridiculed the contestants, making fun of the severe discomfort of the participants and offering no assistance. According to one contestant, they heckled another contestant on the floor whose teeth were chattering.[4] They also made reference to the 2005 case of Matt Carrington, who died of water intoxication in a fraternity hazing incident at Chico State University, but they also shrugged off any significance to this contest.

everyone involved were fired - And there is a pending civil suite against them.
as far as manslaughter or murder, they were not 'forced' to drink.

I knew it! the wii does kill people! they can do what that lady did, or they can play too much legend of zelda and end up hijacking a horse and killing the neighbor and kidnapping his wife, and saying that you were saving the princess from the king of darkness. or you could get accustomed to killing by playing call of duty and then killing countless people screaming "godd*mn nazis die!" the possibilities are endless.

Allowing someone to do something to themself in a contest you create and neglecting to put in place proper safety measures to counteract potential danger to life and limb could result in being found guilty of manslaughter.scherzo wrote: everyone involved were fired - And there is a pending civil suite against them.

Hope the family of the victim wins the civil suit, and I hope any criminal charges laid against members of the station stick.
I heard the recording of the phone call she made to the station. She was in the process of dying and the scum at the station joked with her. Other recordings I've heard involve the DJs even admitting knowledge that too much water can be dangerous but that they made the participants sign a release form so they wouldn't be held accountable for any bad results - too bad scum, you can't neglect to properly inform people about the risks, neglect measures to mitigate those risks, and think a damn signature will automatically keep you out of jail.

I might agree with you on the manslaughter issue, especially more if they knew it to be dangerously fatal, the phone call proves they were at least aware of danger
