My reaction is that President Chavez has the agenda to spread socialism around the globe and I disagree with it. While I think he's a charismatic and interesting person I find his brand of governing and his overbearing personality a bit anoying. The man knows little about the things he talks about and even less about human nature and life itself (42)
I find his disregard for our system of governing ourselves distainful. While I have no wish to live in his system of government I don't support us going to his country and "spreading democracy" I only support the spread of truth and the ability to make choices for ones self.
So I support free thinking in short and Chavez is as far from that as I've seen.

From what I heard on National Public Radio, he kind of shot himself in his own foot with that speech, figuratively speaking. His country had a shot at getting a seat on some council, but now because he made that type of speech in that particular setting, his country might not get the votes to get that seat.

Latin America has a history full of these sorts of pupulist leaders. The way Chavez is acting really isn't new. However, as a member of OPEC, Venezuela gets more attention than, say, Bolivia.
