Students charged over pot brownie prank

DALLAS - Two students have been charged with giving a high school’s employees marijuana-spiked muffins in a senior prank that sent 18 people to the hospital and triggered an FBI and terrorism investigation.

“I had no idea of the scope of my actions,” Ian Walker, 18, said Friday, a day after he and friend Joseph Tellini surrendered to police. They could receive 10 years in prison or more if convicted of felony charges.

Walker is accused of delivering adulterated bran muffins to the teachers lounge of Tellini’s suburban school May 16 and claiming they were part of an Eagle Scout project. When Lake Highlands High School employees ate the muffins, they began complaining of nausea, lightheadedness and headaches.

I do feel that any prison time would be highly inappropriate though.

Yes, they need to be sentenced to community service. Lots of community service.

what a dumb ass ,

after reading this i take it no one got "hi" , it sound's to me that the fbi just wanted to be dimwit's , like sending 18 people to the hospital that point was worthless, just wasting more tax money

they could fight this and more then likey get off with just a minsterminer since it was pot and not crack ect ,butt then again that all depend on the law in that state

here in n.c the law is weed under 3 gram's is a minsterminer over that is a floney
(i know that for an fact been busted a few time's meself) ,

it all depend's on how much weed they put in the muffin's, if that cant be proven they will get off a lot easyer

The hospitalisation may have been unnecessary for all but one of them, but they probably didn’t know what was in the brownies at first. It very well could have been something life-threatening.

i disagree they new what was in there, or the cops would have not been called to start with, o and they were muffin's not brownies , and i do not belive pot will make u spent two days in the hospital. since the effect's of pot only last about 1 hour, , witch mean's no hang over's ect ....

Yeah and really, can weed even do any health damage at that point? I doubt there was enough to harm anyone if it was in a muffin. Not justifying what they did. Its wrong, but the extreme they handled it was a bit too far I say.

answer red is no, if pot was put in to somthing that u eat, it would have to be about one oz or more to do anything , and im sure them kid's did not spend the money on a oz of weed just to watch the teacher's get silly or stoned , that's a lot of money for just one hour of fun plus they would have to make like a few dozen of these pot muffin's for 18+ people to eat

well the person who spent 2 days in the hospital was 86, so yeah, if you're that old then you prolly could spend 2 days in the hospital. and they didnt know what was in the muffins, they called the police cuz they thought it was terrorism cuz the food was contaminated. so yeah, they didnt know if it was life threatening or not cuz the kids wouldnt just go up and tell them it was only pot

Pot isnt just pot anymore minnie, most stuff that's sold to people on the streets is very well laced to get people into harder stuff. I remember back in the day my buddy had several different selections he would sell and the best stuff wasn't just because it was better weed but it wasn't laced with other stuff.

If I remember right 80% of all weed cops confiscated that was tested was laced with some form of another drug. Thus the pot thing may be a moot point but he may have given the meth or some other drug without knowing hence them getting sick.

I live a little on the edge in my teenage years. I figure I'd get it out of my system early, and if I learn about it then when/if I have children I would be able to be a better parent to know the signs and the effects.

I'm not sure where anyone gets "laced" weed... cause.. I've never witnessed this... atleast not where I live and trust me I'd know by now. I'm not saying it hasn't happened but I'm pretty sure it's more of an scare story than the truth. I'm happy with my vices thanks very much.

I been smoking 30+ years, never got laced weed. But most of the time I knew the grower, that helps. What they did was a waste of weed and dumb. You can't just dump weed in a recipe. You need to make cannabutter
