We are under attack...details inside

Not sure what the origin of the attack is, and to be honest I don't care since these people have IQs lower then the first computer had MB of ram. Just a bunch of trolls that are signing up one after the other and spaming crap.

Cleanup is almost done, so no worries. If they retaliate and come back after it's over, i will look further into the details such as the IPs and investigate the exact source. (probably YTMND again, based on IQ of posts)

Update: Cleanup is complete, but there is a possibility of a backlog of trolls left, so I'm keeping an eye out for them.

YTMND stands for You're the man now dog. Aperently they have some kind of history, has to do with nazi or something, but I never really read up that much on it. The site is mostly teenager script kiddies, etc... I would not be suprised if lot of spammers hang out there as well.

BTW the SQL issues have nothing to do with this attack, an sql upgrade made it so IPB messes up the DB, but its been rebuilt now.

Just google, really, and it might be berried somewhere on top site lists.

I do want to expand it at some point, once I stop being lazy and work on SBBS. This year I'll be forced to work on it since I'll do a technical report on it for my last year of college.

I have had attacks on my sites as well. Not by these guys tho.

The last attack on my diving site Froggy actually removed my gallery entirely, luckily I had a backup, but they removed about 80mb of great pics which the members had put up. We got back most of the gallery.

Some people have no brain and no life. It really sux that they attack sites and it just seems to be for the fun of it. It really hits you in the guts when something like that happens.

actually if I remember well both attacks we've ever had were just a bunch of noobs posting retarded stuff at a very fast paste. Not sure about the 2nd, but the first raid that was from YTMND they actually did it manually. It took them like an hour to do it, and it took me like 5 minutes to clean it up.
