"Google representatives did not comment by press time.
Since Google announced Gmail on April 1, would-be users have clamored for accounts with the service, which offers an innovative interface, a powerful search function and 1 GB of storage. The trickles of new accounts that Google released hardly met the raging demand. Some would-be testers plunked down hard cash on eBay -- as much as $200 -- for an account, while the cash-starved made more creative offers on sites such as gmail swap.
Now the go-go days seem to be over. Sean Michaels, gmail swap's proprietor, said the price drop is a boon. "
I just got (or should i say stole) Gmail today, and i'm supposed to believe i can get £140 (which is like $200) by selling my account on eBay?!
That's stupid!

$200? I don't think so. Everyone that has a gmail account has 50 invites to give away. If you are paying anything for a gmail account you're retarded. Wasn't there a thread here a while ago where people couldn't give them away?

A year ago, a Gmail Account was something to covet. Now, it's where if you aren't in it (but you want to be), you are a loserAnarchy wrote:God knows but i'd love to meet the person who paid $200 on eBay for a Gmail account... just so i could laugh at them i got it for free!$200? No there's still loads of sad morons desperately trying to get their hands on one... Googles Gmail system is still BETA so they only made it public to so many people for testing. Just unfortunate from them that someone made a Gmail spoolermanadren wrote:everyone and their mom has a gmail acount now, so if you don't, then you must really sucksintekk wrote:A year ago, a Gmail Account was something to covet. For slightly over 200 bucks I can get myself another 300Gig drive to put in my mail server. LOL Not only do I get full control over my email, but I have piece of mind that it's in my basement and I can backup data easly.

I have 50 too Actually I have 100, but not sure how I'd send the other 50 without reveiling the gmail account's address, since I only use that account for posting news and all news is passed through my spam/AV gateway before it hits that obscure account. It's pretty much brute force proof and all to avoid spam going directly to it.
