is it just a hype sweeping britain for a mindlessly boring audience drip fed on celebrity culture or is this sorry state of affairs happening across the globe?
I rather enjoy some reality TV shows, particularly, The Amazing Race. I would love to travel around the world, and that show lets me do so without experiencing the pressure myself. I also love listening in on other people's conversations, unless they are talking about something boring.

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience every time.

I don't think the conversations themselves are scripted, but the situations the people are put into are sometimes so farfetched that only a few possible outcomes are likely, and that itself is a form of scripting.

reality shows are also getting predictable what with so many about and the limited ways in which they can be run and broadcasted, once predictablity plays a part so does control on the contestants side.
celebrity love island has got to be the worst show i have ever had the misfortune to accidently switch over to... who in their right mind would sit through the bloated ego-ed mush of pin head z list celebrities? AND who would ever contemplate buying the dvd???
the same goes for big brother.. who would want to pay money for the dvd of extra footage? and if it is extra footage unseen on tv then it makes one question how much of a reality show is it??

Live T.V. beats reality shows by far, you never know what will happen!

But, I've watched a few reality shows.. Survivor, Fear Factor(? not sure if it is one) Amazing Race.. uhh, I can't even remember the others anymore. But, the only one I like watching is Fear Factor.. I like how the grind hissing cockroaches, wormies and all that other stuff in a blender.. and it looks like chocolate milk.

Mmm. Roach protien. Makes ya happy in the morning :) That's why those things aren't real. Normal people wouldn't eat that, much less not KILL the roach.

I think with Big Brother, you are able to pay for access to real-time viewing from all the cameras in the house. Now that would be a boring way to spend your time, watching other people sitting in a house being bored.

i like Fear Factor sometimes, but it gets a little too gross and dangerous at some points. i like the extreme makeover: home editions the best.
