William Wallace officially banned

It is my pleasure to announce this sad moment. (that's an ironic sentence) I was looking back at all the drama he tried causing with childish fights, etc... and not to mention several PMs from loyal members asking if he can be banned. (I did not ingore these, I just wanted to give it some time before I actually do a ban)

And then after the incident not too long ago where he posted at another forum in hopes to get trolls here, I figured enough is enough. All this posts will remain as they are as a good 60%-70% of them will display his childness, and not to mention I put his IP(24.188.204.*) in his profile, something he feared greatly. I did the same at Iceteks, which, well, get's a nice ammount of traffic these days.

Basically, here are a few quoted stuff from him which triggered this ban:

This place is a festering pit of censorship. Expressing your views is wrong, saying "fudge" is wrong, and a few members have ignored me for simply stating my opinion. I think you guys need to kick some sense into them because I am the only guy on there with ideals like ours.

There is a debate section all right, and there arre lots of serious, controversial debates there. Say anything they don't like, however, and you're an outcast. I absolutely refuse to let that pack of hypocrites, who say they're for free speech, slip by. I am very angry with the forum owner, and he refuses to hear anything I have to say about it. Why, the man is a Fundamentalist Christian who hates GAYS! What the hell? That doesn't seem like an "open minded, fair" person, as he claims to be! I have anger!

I actually tried to live with the snobbish fucktard for a few months. Obviously it didn't work.

I just think you're a pompous twit. And you're annoying as all fudge, so I don't particularly like you.

That's quoted strictly from the other forum, we can't forget all the stuff here. I think this ban is something I wanted too long for, but since he only did it a bit at a time it made it less obvious that he was simply a troller and used occasional valid posts to cover up and make brownie points.

Oh and he did not say "fudge" in those quotes, trust me.

But anyway, he's banned now, so everyone who were sick of his posts and left the forum, you can come back now.

I don't know. I find it hard to believe that someone with the seventh highest post total was "simply a troller." But it is true that I have only had six months of history with him, and some of you others have had much longer. At least we have Brooklynite posting now because of his link, and that's a good thing.

Yeah, that's why I hesitated baning him, he did post some worthwhile stuff, but as of recent he's only been trouble especially after that "behind our backs" incident which, well, did not work out for him very well.

What did William Wallace say over here that bothered people so much?
Is any of the stuff that William said about this forum true?
I don't understand why you posted his IP. This is information that could be used to hack into his computer. I mean I understand that you hate him for talking bad about this place behind your back, but I still don't think it's right to do that kind of thing to him. It's an abuse of your administrative powers. I think just banning him would have been sufficient.

I don't think banning him was the right thing to do just quite yet. He hasn't stirred up any trouble lately.

EDIT: In fact, I'm almost certain he wasn't going to come back of his own volition anyways.

EDIT DOS: As for the post at the other forum, I agree, that's an assholish thing to do, but it was a few months ago and nothing occured from that post (aside from Brooklynite coming here, which isn't a bad thing... YET

The banning is more or less to ensure he does not return but I doubt he would of. I had several requests in the past that he should be banned/talked to etc and that we should not put up with him. If it was not for that I probably would not have banned him. The post at the other forum is one reason but not the only one.

As for the IP thing, he was basically asking for it, he said he has pissed off many people and was scared I'd post it. So figured I'd do those people a favor, and have it available for them. It should get in the google index eventually. I'll remove it later on. He's the one who should have a firewall and proper protection, not my problem if he does not, and that someone actually hacks into his computer.

If more people want him back I can reverse the ban, but the impression I got is that overall, people want him out. Several have put him in their ingore list, I got those PMs that I should ban him, etc...

Yeah I know what you mean though. And after the things he said I doubt he'll be coming back and even see this thread. I'll keep an eye on the logs for fun though. Could not care less if he does see this thread though.

It wasn't always just what he said, but the ways in which he said it. I could usually have a somewhat civil conversation with him because I wouldn't take his sarcasm personally or respond in like manner. If someone disagreed with him, he would accuse the person of not even listening to him, or he would exaggerate the other person's point and then argue against his exaggeration as if that is what the person had said in the first place. But I don't think something should be posted that would allow a hacker to get into his computer. That is going overboard in response to an individual.

Well if he secures his computer he will be safe. For example, my IP is 142.217.180.156 right now, not really a big issue to have it public. If it was, I would not go on any sites at all since it can be traced. Everyone knows who I am.

Everyone knows who everyone is.

Then again, anyone runing windows XP without a router is pretty much at risk so if he has that configuration then it's his problem. In fact with winxp I'd use 2 routers, just to be sure.

Feel free to search through the forum and find his posts. Back over at the NYRA forum, the two threads I linked to in his 'Anything Forums' thread basically demonstrate the issues that just about everyone here had with him. I don't want to regurgitate the grievances with him here....

I will say this, though. The fact that he went to another forum to try and start a lame-a$$ forum war AND the revelation that he was deceptive about who he really is the ENTIRE time he was here (which was a while) has utterly removed any subtle respect or concern for him that I had left. Banning him at this point is fair, in my opinion. However, I'll repeat my dislike for the fact that Red keeps posting his IP address. Red, you don't need to act childishly about this. Ban him and leave it at that.

Stasi tends to sum it up quite appropriately. This is a rather childish issue that is best addressed by not giving it much thought, that's the only way it has any power. Let's not make an issue out of this, eh?

I agree with the banning of WW, though I doubt he'd come back at this point anyway. I don't really care that he was pretending to be someone he wasn't. I have no proof that anyone on this board is who they say they are, so as long as no one is trying to assume a particular person's identity, it doesn't really matter. But the way he acted is plenty of reason to ban him.

Posting his IP does seem a bit childish, but it's not as if any knowledgable hacker or whatever couldn't find it out easily enough on their own. Your IP is far from private.

An IP address, even if it's static, is considered public information.

Posting it probably won't cause him a bit of problems, either, unless he's crazy enough to run without a hardware firewall with cable internet? o_O

If he's really worried about it, however...Use a proxy or something like AOL for forum posting or call the cable company and get it changed.

That said, I had a soft spot for the kid. <333

He was hilarious for the most part. He really only started getting kind of bad around the time when this forum started to really suck with regulars leaving and the such. I'm not sure what he did while I was on hiatus, though.
