Microsoft may charge extra for security software

Microsoft Corp. disclosed plans Thursday to offer frustrated users of its Windows software new tools within 30 days to remove spyware programs secretly running on computers. But it might cost extra in coming months.

In a shift from past practice, the world's largest software manufacturer said it may charge consumers for future versions of the new protective technology, which Microsoft acquired by buying a small New York software firm. Terms of the sale of Giant Company Software Inc. weren't disclosed.

Gee, thanks a f***ing lot, Microsoft.

Maybe this is why they integrated IE so tightly into windows... so there would be enough flaws in security so they could CHARGE US FOR THEIR OWN PROBLEMS. Woo.

Oops guests are not suppost to post here. :D

Microsoft is so crooked....

Also what's going on with AVG? I was in a rush so I could not read the message but something popped up saying it won't be free anymore, or something. Is this the case? :(

ok good, I was really scared that they were going to do the same as many other softwares do and start charging.

Problem with all these changes though is that all my customers will then complain that their AV keeps poping up messages... But they'll only tell me once they have 10 viruses.
