Maybe try to talk to your parants about it, but I know what you mean about how you can't tell it but it's probably the best thing to do. Plan it ahead so you can explain well what your situation is. They may not do anything or even try, but at least they'll be made aware of it.

Step back, get some perspective (not easy to do at your age, I know), and try your best to realize that your life is yours and no one elses. The first twenty years of your life are by far the most trying, but also can be the most exciting. You no doubt feel like your life at the age of 13 is what your life will be like forever. Maybe realize this is not true, but it's often difficult to truly understand. Personally I was a very independant person all through high school. Never really cared what other did, just kinda always did my own thing. Looking back, I don't regret it one bit. Rather than being concerned with what life is currently dealing you, I really want to encourage you to explore and get to know yourself as best you can and try your best to figure out what you can "deal" life in return. Start writing, start playing an instrument, find a cool spot to just relax and think. The more you can get to know and appreciate yourself now, the more you'll simply be ahead of the game when you turn 18 or 19 and everyone goes their seperate ways anyhow. Hang in there, and again, try to step back and realize that these years of your life are only a small fraction of what is still to come for you. Though you might feel depressed and helpless now, you won't for long, soon you'll be free to make whatever decisions you want and will no doubt find amazing people to share them with along the way. Best of luck!

Is there anything that your dad really likes to do, besides being on the computer? Perhaps you could find a way to do it together. Maybe you could ask him to show you how to do something. Being a parent myself, I realize that we are sometimes ignorant of what our kids are actually thinking. Talk to him. (But try not to do it in a whiny voice. That doesn't really work too well. )

What? That's preposterous! My parents love it when I'm sulky, whiney and sarcastic!

yeah, i kinda had similar problems growing up (not the porn though) my dad never really cared much unless i was talking about something that interested in, if i ever told him i had a problem that didn't involve fiddles or math he didn't much pay attention (a little but not much). I had an abusive brother who was a huge pain in my butt, and things have just sucked until recently when the house has gotten a little more simple.

I found that it really helped to find some activities (or a job) to get involved with to get you out of the house and away from the things that are bothering you, while still being constructive, so that way you don't stew about your problems so much. You're not old enough for a job yet, but you might want to keep that in mind. But i think that my childhood kicking my butt has really helped me, i'm mellow under some of the worst conditions, after seeing my dad drunk i'm sure i don''t want to do that, i spent a lot of time in my room studying, i can play a mean saxophone, and i can deal with people because i have found that your average person is nowhere near as messed up as my family.

alright, you see some downsides, and i understand why you are depressed. but there is a silver lining. you say you live in one of the richest cities in MI, so take advantage of that. mow lawns, shovel snow, babysit, whatever. you will get payed BIG TIME. then you WILL be able to buy things on your own. try it. if you don't have a lawnmower, borrow theirs, until you have enough cash to buy your own. you can then earn your OWN money, and buy your OWN stuff. it will all work out trust me. soon you will be older anyways and you can leave your house and get your own well paying job.

bro, ur 13, i have lived your life, it will get better, i promise. Me i picked up writing like suggested above, i started drawing, painting, reading...take a walk to the public library, spend some time there, start reading, find a good book or 10. Reading is healthy for the soul and for your mind as well, it broadens ur outlook on life and increases your iq (proven fact) mowing lawns in a rich area, ya, that would work out, babysitting, your old enough, walking dogs, taking care of pets, feeding dogs, there are several opportunities for you to get out and experience new things. and for school, we go to school for an education, not for a fashion show, or a popularity contest. ya its hard sometimes, and at your age it is understandable. i'm in the 12th grade, and ready to graduate, and once u get out of school, the ppl u interact w/, will not matter one bit, you education is what goes w/ you n the real world. and do not have a pitty paRty, it only makes things worse, trust me. ^_^
