That seems kinda odd, especially seeing as I've never been in a kmart that didn't look like it was a month away from being shut down.

K-marts have been making their way back, 3 years ago they were all like you described, but in many areas since they filed for bankrumpcy protection they have become competative again, enough so that it was worth it for Sears to buy them out.

I remember when Kmart here was replaced by wal-mart. The part I'll never forget is the big transport leaving with the big K standing up.
