Atoms are about 90% empty space. So obviously that means that the solid part is smaller then the non solid part.

So if you put something on the table, and the atoms line up properly, it will go right through the table.

Yeah.. there are acutally some theorys which suggest that another demintion is vailed by that space. I don't know how technically feezible they are as I am not a seintist. but, this could explain sightings of ghosts as well as a great many other things..

yeah

Thats it.

I don't believe this part is true, the atoms are held by weak bonds that, when broken, would separate, then you wouldn't have an object, just random atoms :P (how cool would it be to see an object loose its atomic bonds and completely break down, like sand in the wind)

Yeah it would probably happen... but while going through and disembling it would maybe go back together once through the object. But it sure would be weird to see, and the fact that it's sort of possible is freaky.

But could that be how melting stuff works? It makes the atoms move faster, thus maximizing the chances that they line up right and don't get in each other's way, so then they go through the surface, and unbond, causing the melting effect. I don't think it's that though, but it sort of makes sense...

That does make sense, maybe so...
