NOES! My boiler is leaking oil!
My mum and I were watching some telly, and I smelt oil. We went downstairs and we found a GIGANTIC POND OF HIGHLY FLAMMABLE OIL! Da came home at once when he heard. Turns out our boiler is broken.
It was a good thing I turned off the boiler or I wouldn't be here to type this to you.
I think we might need a new boiler.

You guys run on oil? That's different. But hopefully you can get it fixed. If it's an old unit it may be hard to find someone that can fix it so it may have to be replaced.
Our furnace broke down on us once, I forget what it was, I think it was a resistor on the mainboard that was causing it to not kick in the blower in time. It had to happen in January, in the middle of night. Easly said, it was REALLY cold in here.

Not a good time of the year for something like that to happen either. Unless you guys are lucky like us and still getting weather above 0.

Yeah natural gas. Isin't that what everyone runs on? It's either that or eletricity, but electricity is more expensive.

Here in the states it is, and probably Canada as well. I'm thinking about getting a solar heater soon, but I think I want to wait until they incorporate all that stuff they discovered late last year. The web says 4-8 months.Red Squirrel wrote: Yeah natural gas. Isin't that what everyone runs on? It's either that or eletricity, but electricity is more expensive.

Solar? Really? I was intrigued in that one time but heard that the cost is very prohibitive

New advances are finally making it worth it.
Ever heard of that solar-powered car race they have every year? Last year was the fisrt year anyone finished it. This year people were actually racing, finally all this research is paying off.

Yeah when I get my own house I'll definatly look into something more advanced/less polluant such as solar. Heck I may get myself one of these and a few windmills and solar panels and only depend on comercial power as extra power if all that equipment is not enough. (basically all the power sources would go together and charge the batteries, and the house would run on that). I've heard of it done. Some even go completly without comercial AC.

Eek! I’m glad nothing tragic happened, Will. Our stove and heaters are powered by propane. There’s a place for a gas dryer, but we’ve always used electric. Most people have natural gas around here. I’ve heard people say that natural gas is better, but I don’t really know. All I know is that you can use your gas stove when the power is out! That’s nice.
Solar energy does look interesting. My dream house would use that, but the cells would have to look stylish.

Let's see the price go down before we see Designer Solar Panels
