my isp's DNS server is going wacko, one minute some sites work, the next it does not, so during this hard time I'm gathering all the IPs so I can put them in my host file, and once this is all over I'll definatly research on how DNS servers work and how to set one up in linux so I can make mine run as DNS.

Anyway what I need is one of these:


1) An IP to a DNS server (usually you can just do ipconfig /all and get one)

2) A proxy server that is just an IP and not a hostname.


So if anyone can supply me with any of those, thanks!

This is one of the few sites that decided to work, but since it's on and off I put the IP in my hosts file. If it gets any worse I'll be posting asking people to resolve domains for me.

I think it's fixed now... but I figured a way to keep busy, my parants were gone so I just watched bowling for columbine, quite a good movie... but then they arrived, lot of racket, could not hear, so I had to stop it and now my net works ok and I'll start googling for info on setting up a dns server.
