Ask yourself: Is that the sort of question whose answers may involve breaking the law?

What kind of computer is it? When you buy a computer, it doesn't usually come with MS word (unless you built it to your specifications). If it's a clone or something else like an hp/compaq, they will often come with microsoft works instead. The actual ms word suite package is rather pricy (depending on where you live of course). What you can do is either download it (which is unethical and an insult upon the countless hours spent on coding the software) or you can purchase it somewhere. If you are a student and you only require ms word and excel, ms provides a discount product for students and teachers. It has the 4 basic programs (word, excel, powerpoint, and i believe access) and it's around 200$ or so (estimated price in CAN dollars, if you live in the us, good for you it's probably cheaper).

If you don’t want to pay for Microsoft Word, I suggest trying free alternatives such as OpenOffice or AbiWord. (I’ve never tried AbiWord, but it looks good.) Both are compatible with the Office equivalents for the most part.

If you still have access to your old computer do a search for "Office11" as microsoft office backs up all of the original the installation files- then transfer them to your new computer and install.
