This should be a simple one
Question is this I have an emachine sitting here with an MSi RS480M MOBO
of course as you know i do too, bios are locked by default ,now can they be flashed ? or not and if so .
just dont say yes give me a step by step on how to do this .
and just dont tell me to go get the new ones from MSI .
not that simple on a OEM board thats been set up for Emachine, dont remember
what all they screwed up when they locked in the bios out side of not being able to change the boot menu or changing the the default hard drive when you use two of them .this thing is a mess ill say that.
been to long sense ive played in bios or flashed them ,im not sure if it can be do on this .and no its not mine ,nice MOBO AMD dule core 2gigs memory not bad just needs a little help .unlock the bios and this will come to life change out the OS add a video card B)

Hmm never heard of this being done. By locked you don't mean just a password though right? Like if you try to change a setting it simply does not let you, type deal? Probably somethng soldered on to do that, or part of the bios software itself.. there has to be ways to get past it, but I'm not sure myself what I'd try.

I'd try to flash it and see what happends, it it screws it out, get a new motherboard compatible with the CPU. Flashing may or may not work, depends what they did and where they did it.

Worth a shot ,Think ill order the new board and have it sitting here .before i go and try flashing the bios . :P i can have them bring the computer back to me .then when i have the board here .doesnt take long to replace it .
takes longer to install windows then to install the mother board
