Just in case some think I've abandoned that project, it's still going, and since I was off for two weeks (almost over now ) I worked on it quite a bit. I'll post screenshots shortly.

It's a forum system, once it's more mature I'll release another beta. But yeah, not there's not much.

Similar to setting NTFS permissions in windows, you type in the user, if it matches more then one, then you pick the one you want, if only one matches, it skips this part and goes straight to the next

And here we can add ACL entries to override the global ones for that particular group.

I can even override group ACLs by specifying a user ACL as well. The possibilities are endless with this feature.


I've been slacking though, this is all I did during this whole week. Well today I did fix the "last post" issues for when topics get deleted/edited/moved in forums, much more tricky then you would think. Took all day.

I'm left with
-PM system
-attachement system
-Smilies

To meet my goal, but I doubt any of that will get done in time. Tomorow I might do the PM system then during the whole next week I can probably manage to do attachments and smilies, but I'll be back in college so it's only a matter of time till things get hecktic again.

Actually this semister we're doing php, so if we need to do a project I'll probably use this. A good excuse to work on it. (and a guarenteed A)

LOL I had a hilarious dream about SquirrelBBS. In fact, the dream made me think of a cool new feature I could add somewhere down the line.

In the dream, users could pick a background color for their posts, in their profile. So whenever they posted it would apear with a different background.

Thing is, this would not be that hard to do either. Could make things interesting. I'd go a step further then my dream and allow to choose font color as well. Problem is, this could be abused, like using horrible color combinations, etc. But it would be ACL based so they'd need to have the permission to do it.

yes RED , not that hard to do in PHP but got to watch just what cluter you start making out of the server .

yes i know boring having to learn how to write lines of boring code that does nothing .or is old out dated ...... ,guess again ,just how many different codes do you think a hacker knows ?better questions i like to asks ,is how many different codes are out that you can name ?
