I'm running Windows 2003 enterprise with Mozilla Firefox 1.0.7 (without a software firewall or anti-virus programs!).

Yeah I don't think a firewall does any difference here, since the browser has to be let through the firewall anyway, so browser exploits can still be exploited.

Get rid of Java though- It's really not needed and poses the biggest security risk of all.

Yeah I always disable it. Not only is it a possible security risk, but it's BLOODY SLOW, open up a page with a java applet and the whole browser just jams up.
