No sound for DVD

Post by richardj »

I have a CD/DVD burner/drive.

I havent run Nero in yet, but in the past, after I installed codecs I could play DVDs.

Now after this latest reinstall, I get no audio from a DVD.I do from a cd(same drive)

I've installed like 4 different codec packs without result.

Also it refuses to recognize 1 of my movie DVDs. Its a brand new disk & I even cleaned it. Explorer says it's empty.

WHAT IS GOING ON?? :banghead:

sorry i been beta testing media monkey and kindof forgot to check here.

the dvd might be reading your new one as an out of zone dvd. and it is also possible that it really is a blank dvd as in a factory error that got by the QC people.

some place in one of the freeware sites i seen a download of codecs it said
it was for all the players and all the zones and all the fomates you would never need to do any more last minute updates to watch the new dvd's as one of the codecs would work with it.

now i cant remember the freeware site or the name but it shouldn't be that hard
to find with their search features.

and i only go to snapfiles.com, majorgeeks.com tucows.com and nonags.com so it has to be on one of those.

try them and see if they work.

only did you say that was a samsong? dvd

or sony?

i had one of them lose its drivers for no reason and the only way i could fix it was get a new brand..

sony is doing lots of crap to their cdroms they are adding hacker ware to them so you have to install the hacker ware and let them spy on you in order to play the cdrom you just bought.

sony is being sued over that.

and they have recalled tons of cdroms from the stores.

they might have done the samething with dvds?
:bsod:

Nah i don't think any of that is it.

I had played this dvd before on former installs.

And like I said I installed like 4 of them 'all in one' codec paks

Never heard of this & I can't find anything googling it either.

And I uninstalled & reinstalled the DVD-no good.

it might load the codec your missing ,not sure on this you might be having a hardware issue on your machine if your a windows user this has been know to happen works then doesnt work .do you have an audio cable hooked up to your cd/dvd drive if not might want to install it to clear up any problems in this area this will cause the problem of sometime it has audio sometime it doesnt .

SUPRISE SUPRISE

Yes, that maga pack actually fixed it. When installing it, it wanted to uninstall the other codec packs & I kept saying no.

Now my PC has about 1GB of codecs. lol

But I never needed them before-I don't get that part.

:P

SO thanks tw2
