Submersia Palace Ruins (New Custom Dungeon)

The final testing has gone well and this dungeon could very well be released as soon as next server wars (August 1, 2007 after 8:00 PM). There are still a few things to test but unless there's some kind of unforseen problem that needs to be fixed, it will definately be released at latest, August 2, 2007 like the sea serpents in luna have informed you earlier.

This dungeon will be playable by anyone in AOV provided they have patched up to a usable client (so 6.0.1.8 or 6.0.1.9). When the dungeon is launched, there will be a thread in the general discussions area of the forum where players will be able to post about their dungeon experiences. Having only been tested by a select few players, the dungeon will not be 100% perfect until we see things from the community's point of view. That is why your feedback is important, so that we can work on improving the dungeon.

Please let us know of any bugs you may have encountered as well as if the spawn rate is too high or too low. Also let us know if something is too powerful. In regards to the "too powerful" part, keep in mind that this is a difficult dungeon and is not meant to be soloable. Although 2 powerful players can get through it, even they will have difficulties and numerous deaths. Not all enemies can be tackled with a certain class so if you're a tamer, warrior, archer or mage, there may be a certain monster that proves to be more difficult for you as opposed to your allies. Also, some of the larger monsters may require a team effort in order to take down.

Expect there to be dungeon updates after server wars to fix up bugs or issues that may be encountered. Please post your discoveries on the forum as we can attend to them faster and keep a record of them as opposed to if you page in game.

Feel free to ask any questions about the dungeon in this topic. Here's a map showing just how large the dungeon is:

One thing I should mention is the dungeon music

If you plan on listening to the dungeon's theme music (Which I highly recommend trying at least once to feel the dungeon's atmosphere), you might want to set it to loop in your music config file. By default it will only play once which kinda sucks, so if you want it to loop, go into your UO folder (Where your game is stored, not your razor folder), and open up your uo music folder. Inside that folder, there's another folder called digital. Be sure to open that one too and you'll see a list of uo music. In that folder, there's a text file called "config.txt". If you want the dungeon music to loop (Play again), open up that text file with notepad and do the following:

First, BACK UP the file. In case you didn't modify it correctly, it's best to have a backup you can replace.

Look through the text file and locate the line that says GreatEarthSerpentsTheme.mp3. That's the music that will play in the dungeon. The line number should read 60. Once you've found it, change that line to:

60 GreatEarthSerpentsTheme.mp3,loop

If for some reason there's no 60 in front of it, leave the number the same and just add the ,loop part after the filename.

Once this is done, save the file and launch UO. When you are in the dungeon, the music file will loop.

I also recommend taking a look at the dungeon without any nightsight items as well as without light filters turned on in razor (You know, back in the day when you used to walk around the world and it would get dark). The dungeon was created to give it an atmospheric look, even in the dark. I might make a video of it after for those who don't want to risk getting killed in the dungeon with their light levels down.

When I take a pet into the first hallway I can't heal or cure it... says I can't perform beneficial acts on my target.

Alright, I'll look into it. Should be fixed now, a property in the region was incorrectly set. I'll test it out just to make sure everything's ok.

Nope, but most of the stuff in there HATES ranged attackers.

Random thought: I wanna make a boss called A Vampire Hunter, who's special attack nullifies all your leeching abilities for like 10 seconds. Haha.

All named are immune to provocation and peacing. Discordance might still work for certain few. The regular mobs can be barded though.

The difficulty is spread to each class. Some monsters pick on ranged attackers a lot more than any other while some of them ignore pets and go straight for the source. Some reflect magic or only spawn allies to help them fight if you've used magic. Not everything can be barded and some of the monsters really hit a good chunk if you decide to melee (Leviath or a lorkest is a good example).

lol like when you hover too close to the lorkest while trying to kill scylla for the key, then you get that nasty tentacle grabbing attack.
