vERSION 95 IS OUT NOW
i FOUND VERSION 90 AND EVEN THIS WILL LAUNCH THEN IT JUST SITS FOR LIKE 15 SECONDS BEFORE THE WINDOW FOCUSES.
(caps sorry)
Anyway the version 95 was worse and then if you l;aunched a second brower a slate grey window would appear and nothing more-it sucks.
I'm trying to find the version before 90.

http://www.maxthon.com/
is the site .
if you find anything called my ie2. avoid it like the plauge.
that is the very old 4 to 6 versions back of maxthon and is really messed up.
myie2 that is not maxthon.
go to that link and you will find the one i am using and the history for it, richardj.
not sure what trouble you say you have but? if you found my ie on the update site i am guessing you are finding the wrong urls to the maxthon. as all they do with that now is mention that maxthon use to be myie2.
if you scroll down the page look at the awards. if you see lockergnome on the page it is good software. chis does not give those out willie nillie to anyone or any program.

In the post above I posted the link which is
http://www.myie2.com/html_en/update.htm
It is a part of the Maxthon site & I'm now using the MyIE2 0.9.27
and it's working just fine.
As I said the problem is that Maxthon was taking all day to load & focus & then if I
launched a second browser it just sat there with a blank slate colored window.
But I can't find a link to download the older version which you are using.

so you like using an un secured my ie 2 brower?
strange?
that link you posted is not to maxtons site.
they don't use that site it is unbelieveable that it is still showing up.
(straight from the link you gave me. 11 Nov 2004 Maxthon 1.1.067 )
that is so freaking old the site has even been revamped how in the helpper did you find that site?
i can not even find that link on the site i linked too.
richardj i am using the newest version of maxthon not the older one i went and got the newest version posted at that download like i posted for you.
(straight from the site i linked to. v1.5 build 95 [2005-10-05] )
that is the newest version and the most secure one.
i have no trouble with speed of loading the pages
the only thing i can think of is you did not go in to the options for maxthon and turn off the autoupdate check or the other start up things that are not useful.
i only use a few of the adv blockers and this is maxthon is faster then the ie from micorsoft. but the old one you have now is unsecure they found lots of holes in it. that is why i said to avoid that one like it was the plauge because it can let in several trojans.
but those holes were plugged by maxthon. just go in to the options and turn off the start up options that are not needed.
like autocheck for update. that will slow it down and make you cry. so i don't use it.
I went in to the maxthon forum and gave them what for and told them to get that freakin old site off the net. i almost started cusing at them. that makes me so peeved that a company would leave that old of a site online.
ok i gave myself the little hand waving smilie i was getting to the point of explioding over their stupid mistake. man i dislike stupidness like they did.

SIGH
I took your advice and uninstalled MYIE2 & put in the new Maxthon.
After the window opens it takes a full 15 seconds to show the page.
Internet Explorer shows the page within 2 seconds.
It sucks----------------------
Plus what irritated me is I sent an email to the author explaining the problems I had and got no response--not even a howdy-doo

okay i also am awaiting response to an email from them.
depending on that response i will do what i am always doing in promoting it. or will reverse and inform to avoid it?
but until i get the response. i will try and help you.
start the brower up click on the tool bar word options go to maxthon options. click on that run through all the tree menus and tabs turn off anything that looks like it will eat up time when starting.
i also do not let it open any page when starting. i let maxthon start fully before i send it to the web.
and enable the blockers you want.
on the plug in panel select the option to start the plugins after the page is fully loaded.
continue with the options to make sure you got all the stuff currectly set.
