:P :)

LOL

I was wondering if you would like to explain your connection to this site & to the Ice Tech home page which talks about PC servicing and has affiliates listed there.

For instance- Do you or your parents own this business & the site?

What do those 'affiliates' get out of being that?

Where is this business?

Why is it called 'Ice Techs'?

What do you do for work?

What is your familys gross anual income?

Are you a still a virgin ?

Are you straight or one of those funny guys?

:roflmao2:

I thought this might be of interest to new members & those that are just plain nosey.

Richard,

Allow me to answer some of these questions on Red's behalf.

Red is the sole proprietor of the IceTeks business, and he's based in Northern Ontario where he (like myself) performs PC Repair, Web Design and similar services. The name IceTeks stems from a poll a few years back, from the days when Red was hosting his site on some of the hardware I lent him (Yes, there IS a reason why there's two admins here..)... basically the users of the site/forum then known as PC411 decided what the new name was going to be, and it's just kinda stuck with us.

Richard, although well intentioned, and I realize we're pretty lax with the Cool Hangout Place postings, I believe questions involving the sexual orientation, family gross income as well as sex life may be better suited to PMs between members. Please remember to use some restraint in your posting.... we don't ask for much but keep it in good taste as 'The Cool Hangout' place is open to all audiences.

All true, and I'll take care of answering the sex related questions.

Yes I'm a virgen and I'm not one of those funny guys, but straight. :D

I'm not even sure how much is our income. I know mine came up to about $7,000 when I calculated but it will be more this year as I made that much during summer alone. But that 7,000 per year income was enough for me to get a visa. (kind of scary, actually. lol)

RED

For these questions you answered

As I'm sure it goes without saying-but then again I guesse it doesn't as this jryan person chastised me--I was only being a smart A**-and I figured you would know that.

Then again-perhaps that is why the person to whom the post is addressed should do the replying to the post.

But I did seriously want the info on the rest of the legit questions.

I still want to know about the Affiliate program-what it is -what it does.

As far as the rest----------

Haha. Actually I use my visa only to pay it off the next day. The card company will hate me because they will never make any money off me. :D Just using it to gain credit so I can easly buy a house later on.

Oh and as for all the affiliates these are basically just sites that asked to get a link exchange to be put in the affiliate list. But there's more then just those sites that post our news, and that I post their news. The nice thing about the tech site industry is it's easy to have an article or something go all out. Do a search for most of our articles and they're all over search engines. Pretty sweet actually.

I'm moving up to Canada and I'm going to live in Red's basement and work for IceTeks....... I'll..... I'll...... I'll do something useful like frequently clean everything about the PCs, the insides, outsides, hard drives((storage and.... That other part)), and make Red a sandwich.... I make sandwiches.... And they cost alot of money. Like...... 10 dollars a sandwich.

I'm worse still, I make use of the interest free periods while keeping my money in savings accounts. £3k earning 5% pa for 6 months is £75. Not bad for maybe a couple hours work. :P

Only problem is I seem to be collecting cards, I think I have about 12 - 15k of credit available to me at the moment which is a fair amount considering my income was only about 15k last year.

Wow, that's lot of available credit. :D

I only have (yeah, only, lol) $1,000 but the way I've been using it they'll probably jack that up in a year or so from now.

5% of £3,000 is £150. Interest over a year is £150, interest over 6 months is half that, £75.

Red, they certainly do like bumping up the credit limit which is silly if you never even get close to the limit (except in those first 6 months while it is interest free) while it is low. I've got a couple of cards I never use anymore and the limits keep getting bumped up. I suspect they're just looking for an excuse to send me mail to remind me I actually have these cards.

haha yeah probably. I don't mind but it's just that it can become dangeraus if you don't use it wisely. ex: if you don't actually have the money at the time of use, and end up not getting it in a month from then.

Only thing with having alot of availible credit in credit card form is that you can (I've seen this happen in retail) get declined for credit when you're actually looking for it because your credit is overextended. It's not that you have a bad rating or anything, it's just that you have TOO MUCH credit availible to you and if you racked it all up you wouldn't be able to pay your debts. Isn't that interesting? You can have too much credit. What a world lol

I want a fuckin' credit card. Someone buy me one.

I tried getting this debit card from Mastercard or Visa or something through 7-11 and I hate it. Why? Because the dumbasses send me mail EVERY month telling me I have 10 dollars in my account, but they won't let me spend it! Well, screw them. If I can't spend the 10 dollars I originally put in, why the hell will I put more money in it? Screw them.

There's talk of this sort of move in the UK. Moving away from credit risk being judged on whether you've ever missed a payment to whether you can actually afford the level of debt you carry. I'm back to uni this coming year meaning my income will take a nosedive so I may not be able to get another credit card anyway for a while.

Pyr-O-Rgasm, that sounds really very odd. :o

haha that could suck. "sorry you can't have a mortgage for $200,000 because you have $300,000 in credit cards, so why don't you put the house on the credit cards instead?"
