LSASS.exe is being very Rude!

I keep on getting a pop up on my computer saying that lsass.exe is shuting down my computer and I have a minute or so to save my work (so very thoughtful).

This is only happening when I run my computer under windows 2003 enterprise edition.

details:

The operating system has been up and running for about 24 hours now, I've set it up as an application server and installed Visual Studio .NET 2003 professional with the MSDN library and MSSQL server, those are the only programs I've installed and I haven't used it for the internet at all. It was a clean install as the same thing happened the day before when I installed it and then I choose to start again from scratch.

This usually happens about 15 mins after log on. I know that LSASS is responsible for security and stuff but how do I fix what ever the problem is, without doing another clean install?

P.S I need Windows 2003 on my computer to do .NET stuff for university.

Check for virus or trojans on secondary drives

Check your power unit.
;)
15 minuetes is just about right to get your transformer hot enough, that , if it's weak, it may be failing; when hot.

computer is clean (scanned with AVG), installed XP Pro on my other hard drive fresh about two weeks ago and haven't been on very many "non-trusted" sites.

Will also try PC-Cillin, Avast and Nod32 if I have to as they have been good in the past.

I will also try and update 2003 but when ever i do that it kills off windows installer and i can't install any more programs using windows installer, either way I lose out.

as for the power option, wouldn't that also affect me when using my computer in win XP as so far that hasn't been a problem for me.
