Always use an encrypted proxy connection when browsing sites you don't want anyone to know, since http is sent out as plain text!

Ahhh..... Sweet illegal activity. How nice.
I have one question, how old are you? Because if you are of legal age in the US((18)), then they can't do crap about you visiting porn unless it's something like child porn.

Hi , use proxies to and stay anonymous with Java/Javascript/plug-ins/flash...
1-method
Install Firewall on your machine and restrict all the connections to the Internet (except for the anonymous proxy server) from a browser. It's also recommended to use port mapping for this free anonymous proxy server and define the browser's proxy as 127.0.0.1 with the local port from port mapping.
2-method
Use socksification in your browser. This will enable relaying all the information your browser or any other software sends and transfers to the proxy server.
3º- THE Best Method
You need to set up LAN, local IP addresses (192.168.1.x or alike). A corporate proxy server should forwards ALL requests to a free anonymous proxy server (you need to have skills and rights of a system administrator in order to do that). It's impossible to connect to the Internet bypassing a corporate proxy, as long as external IP address is not assigned to local machines. It's also impossible to scan local machine's settings: even if Java/ActiveX applets detects and gives out your local IP address (192.168.1.x) to the web server, your anonymity will remain unbroken. So, basically, you can rate this option as 100% anonymity.
greetings

I would be very weary of any program that keeps you anonymous. It's a perfect oportunity to throw in spyware and other crap. All you really need is proxies. Find a good list that is kept up to date and keep using proxies and change it every now and then.

ACTUALLY-------------------------------------
I really doubt if it was from their site that I got the trojans & crap--------------it could have been while I was at 'various' sites trying to 'obtain' a copy.
I say this as PC Magazine highly rates it. see below. So now that I've unscrewed my PC I think I'll reinstall it & see if it works or not. I'm a glutton for punishment.
Editor rated it at 4 & a half stars.
GhostSurf 2005 Platinum
REVIEW DATE: 10.26.04
By Cade Metz
Anonymity is just the beginning. In addition to masking your IP address, GhostSurf 2005 Platinum provides all sorts of additional privacy tools, including a copy of the company's antispyware app, SpyCatcher.
When Tenebril first introduced GhostSurf in 2001, the app masked your IP address by routing your requests through various public servers. The company soon switched, however, to its own, private servers, claiming that public servers were not only hard to trust but often terribly unstable. The new private server method—also favored by Anonymizer 2004—works beautifully. If you like, you can even encrypt your Internet requests, hiding them from anyone who might listen on the wire. All your traffic does travel through Tenebril's server, but like Anonymizer, the company claims nothing is ever cached.
The app can mask not only your Web requests, but also IM messages. And with two free software add-ons, it can mask newsgroup and IRC traffic. Conveniently, the app even lets you compile a list of Web sites where you don't want your identity masked. In some cases, you'll want a site to know who you are so they can customize content, store certain information on your behalf, or provide special services.
GhostSurf also provides several other privacy tools. Its AdArmor tool can block pop-up windows, ActiveX controls, and other scripts. The TracksCleaner tool lets you erase local traces of Internet activity. And Personal Data Vault lets you hide all your system passwords and other sensitive system data behind heavy encryption. There's even the SpyCatcher module to keep spyware at bay. All told, GhostSurf 2005 Platinum is quite a bargain.

A few proxy list I know of are:
http://www.atomintersoft.com/products/aliv...oxy/proxy-list/
http://tools.rosinstrument.com/proxy/
Probably way more but these are the two results in google for "proxies" and I never had to go beyond those.

OK THEN__________________________
I reinstalled Ghostsurf and it's working GREAT!
Evidently the 50 plus spyware items I had in my system was screwing it up--
AND I just did a clean reinstall--like--2 weeks ago.
WITH IT ON ----Your ip address is 66.139.76.245 Possible internet connection type
High Anonymity(Elite) proxy or direct connection.
WITH IT OFF---Your ip address is 207.67.57.71
LOL -- PLUS it has a REALLY GOOD spy catcher program.

Nothing's a 100%. I use Spyware Blaster to keep most spyware from loading in the first place.

SIGH
Actually this all relates to that other post about Spy Sheriff
And SpyBot was the thing that kept finding that smitfraud c where even like Trend didn't find it.
But then Trend found 26 registry entrys related to ad/spyware where the other ones didn't.
But now I tried that new Microsoft Live security scanner & it found a heap of crap.
It's an online scan.
