Ok, traffic is going down almost at the same rate as enron stocks, but lack of time is also stoping me from writing articles, but I can still make the time somehow. But I need some ideas of articles to write, so if anyone wants to see a subject covered, let me know! I was looking into possibilities of recycling old articles, but I want to avoid doing that, since it's kind of cheap way to get traffic.
And not that much, at that.
Also, don't be scared to post stuff in the download section, would be nice to see that grow as well.
SquirrelBBS is the same.. have not touched it in so long. Last time I did, I was realizing how unconsistantly coded some of it was, and was almost thinking of restarting parts of it, then I got lazy and left it untouched.

ideas for articles ? ummm.
how can you code a software cpu cooler to use with amd or intel to keep the dual cpu's cool, or how can you code a program to use that will tell you the speed of the cpu's doing hard and heavy cpu usage on dual cpu computers. the latter would come in handy for those that are doing video and audio editing or compiling.
how can you make a browser that would work in a split mode that will show you the cpu information and the web site at the same time ?
what do you need to do in order to make the different browers use the same shell at the same time so you would only have to click on one icon and start one process and load two different browsers.?
how can you make a boot up cdrw that will let you add to it when you find new tools that you would beable to use.
as it would be better to use one cdrom disk instead of burnning lots of boot cd's each time a new tool is found.?

The cpu stuff would be pretty complicated, given I don't know assembly, which would be required.
Bootable cd would not be too hard though I don't think.
I have no clue how Id make one but it is 7:25AM right now...

I may be getting a cool looking banner made for me in the near future which I intend to make dynamic. I could write up what I do if you like. It would essentially be a updated version of a previous article but the offer is there if you want to take it.
It would definitely be based around true type fonts with the string processing I've posted previously though possibly an updated version with manual override.
Reviewing some of the better firefox extensions?
How proxy's work?
I can't really think of any other articles

hmm proxies sound interesting, and the sig article too would be good to add, I could either add it in that article, or just make it a whole new article.

Probably best to make it a new article, it would be covering a lot of new material.
I've just been messing about in google looking at where iceteks articles rank and WOW! I can't believe the site ranks so highly for so many of the articles. Even for the more recent articles the site rank well, the psp user guide article comes top which is surprising as you (or at least I) would think there would be a lot of competition for those keywords. Perhaps you should put in an affiliate link to amazon and see how many purchases are made from people visiting this site first!
Speaking of ranking well in google, how about an article on search engine optimisation?

Yep I know it's awesome how lot of articles rank so high, even popular keywords. I've thought of the amazon affiliate system, but not sure how well it actually does, given probably a few thousand sites use it.

Yeah that was slightly tongue in cheek.
It's probably not bad (at least for essentially zero effort) though obviously the profit margins aren't as high as they are for 'adult entertainment' websites and the like so it's unlikely to make you rich.

how about an article on how to code in certain functions in javascript html or vbs html.
like tell us how to code in things like
get the time of day
get the day of month
get the month of year
or
load / run the calander
or
load / run ??? .exe or .vbs or .txt or .wsh
the article i think would be better if you gave us the code's for those functions so we can copy and paste them in to our own javascripts or vbs scripts.
and also it would be a better learning article if you told us why each typed character was used and placed in that spot in the code.
