I fried my motherboard

Ok, I bought a new case for my PC, and let me tell you, it looks sexy. Anyways, while transferring everything over, I somehow managed to fry my motherboard. Well, I got the new one in the mail a few days ago. It's awesome. It's fuckin' purple. B)

Well, for about 30 minutes me and my friend attempt to get the bastard to work. Windows loading screen, then nothing. That's when I called one of my PC Guru friends, who mentioned a driver conflict. That's when it hit me. I was attempting to use a new model mobo with the drivers from the old one. Well, I can't access Windows((currently using a PHLAK boot-disk)) without those drivers. I can't install those drivers without accessing Windows...

Uh.... Any ideas? :grade11math:

contact the mother board maker and tell them what your trying to do.

they might have already figured out a way to do that.

purple? that sounds like it might be neon reactive? try a neon rope light in the case might look cool B)

The joys of static! The last time I was messing about in my case I managed to ruin my graphics card and my modem.

Luckily the graphics card was a £20 thing and the modem I don't use anyway. It could have been worse.

Hope you get everything working.

What really sucks is it won't let me access my harddrives, so I can't show you guys pictures of it. Maybe I fried my harddrives? Oh God.... That would suck majorly. Of all the parts in my PC, THOSE are the things I'd hate to fry the most.

But had I fried my harddrives, would it still try to load up Windows? How would it know it has Windows on there if they are fried?

Do it successfully get into any windows/dos related mode? If yes, the drives are probably working since it can read the data, it just can't process it because of another problem. Could be the ram too.

Were you grounding yourself properly when moving the parts around? I usually keep the case plugged in but shut off the power switch and touch the case as much as I can, especially after moving over the carpet. mind you, there's like hardly any static in my room, I never get a shock on anything like the light switch, etc.

Oh, and avoid putting hardware in front of your monitor, since there's lot of static there.

It hits the black 2000 loading screen, then the normal Windows loading screen. After that, black screen, and the monitor turns off.

Oh, and I'll make sure not to hold my parts up to my monitor. Sorry, that just sounded funny.

The ram is fine, they tested it when they tested everything else.

Any particular reason you'd like to see my fried motherboard?

Hmm, sounds like it's blue screening on you but you just don't get a chance to see the bsod (though usually you would see some blue pop up for a 1000th of a second before it reboots). Any particular hardware changes/unsupported hardware added in by any chance, while moving the stuff?

Fixed and t3h fixed, Yo! I just went ahead and hooked up my master drive into my mom's computer((Viva La Spare Computers)), backed up my important stuff, formatted, and reinstalled Windows. BAM! I'm back, and should have a bit more activeness now. B)

Haha not sure what mine would say if I fried mine, she'd just be mad if I spend money for another one, (and I'd sort of have to... lol)

Once I accidentally let a virus on the computer (when we only had one) and she got so pist at me, it was insane. Who am I? Level 1, 2 and 3 support all at the sametime, with 24 hour free support? LOL

Well, my mom bought the last mobo((and the current one, which is purple)). She'd chew my butt off. It would be my third fried motherboard((the very first one we ever had fried, that's part of the reason I got new stuff for Christmas)).
