I've been trigger happy with my credit card lately,I pay it off right away of course.

I've ordered

-100VA/600Watt UP for server and workstation downstairs
- DVD Burner for my workstation upstairs
- 300GB hard drive for my workstation upstairs
- 512MB of ram (will figure out what to do with it later - it was a cheap price so I got it:P)
- new case for my server

Did not calculate total cost yet, but probably over 1k of stuff. But all worth it. The UPS is setup and charging now, still need to figure out the linux software for it, but once it's fully charged I'll give it a test run and see how things go, hopefully it won't just die like my other did, it lasted like 2 seconds.

Wow, what a night. Imaged the old drive to the new, boot up, stupid stop error. So aparently windows can't handle a 300GB drive, that's the only conclusion I can get from this. That or acronis does not actualy do a true image, but simply copies the data, the same way xcopy would. If thats the case, then that's really stupid, as the whole point in an image program is to image it exactly as it is, so the boot stuff stays at the right spot.

So I'm posting from the old drive. I'm due for a clean install anyway, so I'm getting ready for that, just backing stuff up. I hope I'll somehow be able to make windows work wtih that 300gig though. If not I will have to put it in the server which involves taking it out of my case. (removing/putting drives in an acrylic case involves unhooking and rebuilding the computer, pretty much). Then Id have to image the 120 to the 300, then image the 60 (curent workstation drive) to the 120.... lot of waiting and error prone involved.

Also for some reason direct connect has been dumping stuff on my C drive, over 2 Gigs of it, so I have the luxery of copying it on my server where it belongs. wow, what a night this will be, and it's only started.
