For the bot, submit it to google, or post it on a forum that is already ingoogle's index, such as this one. (put it in your sig) That way when the bot comes here it will also follow the link to your site.
For the site, just make sure you use spider friendly urls, no ? & and = should be in the urls.
For Iceteks I somewhat cheated that by using a redirector page, but it works just as well. The archive is a more advance version of the concept. It basically looks like a bunch of subfolders, but really forums/archive is a file not a folder.
I might write an article on this at some point.

"so you want to make a web site "
you know html?
if not you can learn from the site pagetutor.com he has a easy lesson and it is called the same as the statement i said first.
but you use meta tags for aol users and most other browsers and spiders.
find a couple pages that let you use the right click and view source on. then look at the top of the page source code to see what they did for meta tags. then copy only the meta tag code and change the discription and the keywords.
and paste in the same location on your web page. now remember if you repeat keywords the spiders will ignore you site.
and if you use keywords that have nothing to do with your site the general viewers will pick up on that and start to not go to your site. and the spider companys might start ignoring your site.
there are some html tags that only ms ie understands like bacgroundsound, dont use it always embed your sound files then 90% of the viewers will get your sound.
also never NEVER
NEVER embed music and not give the controls to the viewer so they can play it or not.
if you want the code for the controls it is in this forum some place i posted it before but ask and i will post it again.
good luck
